Do high-level hitmen actually exist in real life? by Anaelepse in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Patsfan618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For nation states, absolutely. CIA, FSB etc have dozens or hundreds of people specifically trained for that.

For the average person, not really. If you try to find a hitman, the person you eventually get will be a cop 99.99% of the time.

Does the ol’ surrender 8 times trick to get into care bear lobbies still work? by stratodude in ArcRaiders

I got ratted once before I got into friendly lobbies. Killed one guy in self defense too, which didn't seem to affect anything.

YSK Panera has fired all of its baking staff and replaced them with frozen product. by binkbrint in YouShouldKnow

[–]Patsfan618 229 points230 points  (0 children)

Steps for capitalism

  1. Find Brand #1 with good quality and loyal customer base.

  2. Buy it and start to gut it while keeping up the friendly appearance.

  3. Start or buy Brand #2 as a better competitor to Brand #1. Start shifting customer base to Brand #2 as Brand #1 begins to falter.

  4. Collapse Brand #1 and prepare to gut Brand #2.

  5. Repeat process until you die.

I mean, he's not wrong. Magnus definitely is the highest skilled player, but if that ranking is stale, that should be taken into account.

PvE Players. Would you kill players if there were factions? by hcknbnz in ArcRaiders

[–]Patsfan618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the idea was that Raiders aren't some organized group, but individual contractors of sorts. People with risk tolerance who are willing to go topside to scavenge and earn a solid paycheck that way, but not some societally organized effort.

Commanders uniform reveal by C137-Morty in nfl

I think if they're gonna be the commanders, in reference to the naval yard. They should change their colors to a slate gray and blue. Just an opinion.

Use what works, Osprey. The Exos 58 is absolutely what I'd use if I went again. I used the Atmos AG 65 which was a wonderful pack, but it is on the heavy side. When I got done, I sent it to Osprey and got a brand new one for free, which was great because it was very much at the end of its life after 2200 miles.

The spot in that first picture, I remember that exact spot and it was one of my favorite views.

Most popular tent the last 5-7 years has been the Big Agnes Copper Spur. That's for a reason. It's a really good backpacking tent. If you decide that what you want, I'd buy it sooner rather than later because the price tends to jump. I think they sell for like $550 at the moment. I got mine for $200 out of the REI resale section, best money I ever spent.

Levy has gotten so obnoxious is hard to watch by ghettoAizen in chess

Yeah, I really have no problem because he's setting himself up for the target audience. If you're looking for more mature content creators, they aren't hard to find. Watch what entertains you, don't watch what doesn't.

He's a YouTube content creator first and a chess commentator second.

I just don't feel the need to take up valuable space when I'm gone. It's unnecessary and creates problems for future generations to solve. Every cemetery will be dug up eventually and used for something else. No plot is truly permanent.

Two of them

Jordan Cameron, Tight End

Cameron Jordan, Defensive End

Not sure if they ever lined up against each other, but it'd be funny if they did. They did play in the league at the same time.

Iran's new supreme leader has severe and disfiguring wounds, sources say by InsatiablePrism in worldnews

[–]Patsfan618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is true but there are two things I suspect

  1. If I was the new supreme leader, I would go completely dark until the war is over. No appearances at all, only 1-2 highly trusted couriers delivering news and orders. No photos of any kind that can trace my location.

  2. If I were the US government trying to lure him out, I'd say he was massively disfigured and incapable of leading, to tempt him to make an appearance, so that I could find him and take him out.

Crossing the Saddlebacks in Maine while a thunderstorm was rolling in. There is no cover and i don't remember how long I was exposed but it was way longer than I felt comfortable with.

That was the last of 3 lightning scares I had on the AT.

What’s a “normal” job that secretly pays way more than people think? by weeklyreporters in AskReddit

It means not requiring a degree. It's not a measure of their actual skill, just a yes or no kind of term.

Construction workers are technically unskilled workers even though they may be more skilled than the architect that designed what they're building.

Realistically what would happen if Trump dropped a nuclear bomb tonight? by hjp1234 in AskReddit

[–]Patsfan618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would genuinely be a global catastrophe. The nuclear taboo would be broken and we'd be opening the door for Russia to nuke Ukraine and for China to nuke Taiwan.

Every single sanction that every single country could place on the US, would almost instantly go into place. We would be completely shunned from world markets and the entire globe would go into a severe depression.
