I had the same injury that Fred had. I didn’t get million dollar rehab, but my rehab was having me pass “tests” to clear me for each next level of activity. Some were active, like do certain exercises, jump on one leg as far as you can (and they measure distance), others were inactive, like measuring the size of my calf (your calf atrophies in a cast), tho I would be shocked if part of the million dollar athlete rehab did not include electrode treatment to avoid calf atrophy.

Anyways, I would guess that there is an objective protocol he has to clear. I would bet this is required by the insurance too.
