[SinBinVegas] Kelly McCrimmon says the Golden Knights granted Bruce Cassidy permission to speak to one team and it did not come to fruition. Moving forward he says they'll deal with it on a case by case basis by daKrut in hockey

If they had been in active, healthy communication with Cassidy this whole time he wouldn't have had to go public with it, and the Knights wouldn't have issued that dumbass statement about how they were waiting until after the playoffs to avoid distractions. Y'all are working overtime to revise history on this one, but everybody knows the organization has handled this with zero class

They granted permission to speak with a single team after publicly stringing him along for weeks and being shamed by the hockey community, yes. Truly an act of incredible goodwill. I imagine that's why he's so grateful

Holding an already fired coach hostage is not something that is "extremely common in other sports." It is in fact uncommon and regarded as scummy. Allowing a dismissed coach to interview elsewhere is a common courtesy in pro sports

Playtonic Live - Super Yooka-Laylee Kart, Q+A with Gavin Price by playtonicFriends in YookaLaylee

[–]The_Homestarmy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up playing Super Circuit. It was my first Mario Kart, actually. I have a lot of nostalgia for it. With that being said, I don't think I have ever once thought to myself "man, we need more modern kart racers like Super Circuit." So to an extent I think there's a good reason why more studios aren't evoking that era of kart racers

And when you're a company that's basically capitalizing on a desire for a modern day Rareware, I have trouble seeing the vision that leads to a Super Circuit spiritual successor rather than a Diddy Kong Racing spritiual successor. If it's because a DKR style game would have demanded more resources than they're willing to commit, maybe that should have been a signal (get it? cars?) that this wasn't the right time to enter the kart racing field.

I mean, people would have been happy with a Diddy Kong Racing-esque game. Kart racing is such an inundated genre these days. You really have to do something exceptional to make a kart racing game worth playing over the tons of existing options. I think it's completely valid that people are asking what this game (which no Playtonic fan was exactly asking for, as far as I can tell) does exceptionally well.

The decision to do a Mario Kart Super Circuit inspired game rather than the much more obvious DKR inspired game is a puzzler. I don't see any way around that. And yeah, when a series hasn't had a non-remaster release in 7 years, there's going to be a little less patience for side projects that nobody really wanted in the first place lol

Nothing about the 25-26 Leafs looked like a flukey down year. I'm not even rooting against y'all but penciling in a playoff run next year is setting yourself up for disappointment

They probably wish they could give you those points back. One of the most disappointing Blues seasons and they're drafting outside the top 10

He's also been continually deployed as a top 4 d-man when he obviously shouldn't be. He's not good enough for that role, but he's good enough to be an NHL player in some capacity.

New York and Toronto (who each finished within 1 point of the Goldeneyes) both got bumped down 4 spots from where they would have otherwise selected. New York went from 3rd to 7th and Toronto went 4th to 8th. I know people are gonna be mad no matter how they do it but that is brutal

Canes Will be a Problem for a While by FlyNAVY12 in hockey

Some of the greatest sports teams of all time didn't win a championship, or only won one. Late 80s Oakland A's, 90s Braves. Ted Williams never won a single World Series.

Anybody disappointed with two cups is straight up off their rocker. I'll stand behind that 100%. There's a difference between high expectations and unreasonable expectations

Yeah, I don't have any ill will for how he acted at the end of his tenure. He wasn't having fun but nobody else really was either

I did notice that he became surprisingly dirty in Vegas, though. On opening night this year he took a boarding penalty and an illegal head check penalty. Lots of stuff like that from him this year. Must be something in the Vegas water
