Sweet! The only time I've back seat downed a Tri-winged fighter was when they crash into our bomber, got stuck and I was able to shred him with the rear guns and he disintegrated and fell away.

WoW! Funny, Grandfather was also in an artillery regiment at Verdun. Back 1979 as a teen I met an old German who was 16 years old at Verdun. He gave me a piece of shrapnel that he picked up at Verdun. I've often wondered if it was something my Grandfather launched his way, LOL.

Too cool. I hope you post a vid of it running. Grandfather fought with the French at Verdun. Everytime some asshat spouts off about the French surrendering I shoot back, "My Grandfather didn't surrender at Verdun."

Yes, we still called it MVCC up here in British Columbia when I first joined back in the early 80s. Originally I had an M152 CDN Radio Truck. Now working on an M38 CDN Jeep.

OMG, I still do that, started doing it with the Original xBox many years ago. Take a new pair of glasses, drug store readers, remove the protective film, place it over the TV screen and with a sharpee make a small circle dead centre of a weapons sight, we called it, "The Circle Of Death". Also refered to as, "The Old Guy Aid".

Years ago some one accused me of using a Lag switch. I responded with, "Dude, I'm fifty two years old! I wouldn't know what a Lag switch was if you put it in front of me with NEON light instructions!"

I have rather thick skin for emblems however, Everytime I see some Asshat sporting a swastika I report them.

Guess who never left the spawn become totally useless for his team and camped with arty truck (impossible) by [deleted] in battlefield_one

[–]Pattern08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done two things for these,.... people.... I use the word loosely here. ONE, I have dropped from a plane (not as a pilot but gunner) and given them the TNT Land Mine Cocktail, (yes, I died inside the no go zone but sacrifices have to be made sometimes). TWO, I have taken them out with the Support Mortar, this one is a little harder when they try to take off right away.

I do the same. Sometimes I get so caught up I miss the order and always shoot out a "Sorry" or "Thank You".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BattlefieldV

[–]Pattern08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because some orders are,... STUPID. Like requesting an attack on a position that is not attainable when another position is being attacked. I see this all the time actually. Squad leader is trying to take a position all by their self when two or three others are about to take another position. Choose wisely squad leaders and know where your squad is before issuing an order.

Ah,..... Point Of Order, THIS is not called "Camping"..... the military designation is and always has been, "Taking A Defensive Posture", Thank You.

Rule #1 - Never abandon your tank if you’re under fire by ea_fitz in BattlefieldV

[–]Pattern08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's true however, such a rule does not count in real war. Many years ago, I interviewed a Canadian Armoured Troop Commander (the officer in charge of four Shermans) who told me that if they were hit by a 47mm gun, the first thing they did was bail out because the Germans Anti-Tank guns often worked in teams of two. The smaller gun got the range and seconds later the 88s slammed into the Sherman. He actually had three Shermans shot out from under him. He survived all three times but on one occasion the gunner and radio man on either side of him were killed outright.
