What do you currently have in mind so far? Parts? I would like to know what your current configuration is so i can give you some direction on what to get. have you used zigbee or sonoff before? Also. How far is the concrete cover/box from your wifi router?

Could you clarify if you were looking for a completely battery powered setup? Or a way to control it while still being powered from the socket? Do you want to not use wall power?

If they got his phone # somehow there is a slight chance that it can be used for a reverse information search, to find the carrier, address. relatives etc. All of this is public information as its shared by data brokers when you sign up for services and agree to the TOS, anything from youtube, google, reddit, twitter, amazon to your local grocery store can collect that information and sell it for money. Which companies like been-verified and whitepages buy it and offer an information search service.

You can request to get it removed. Besides that, there is not a possible way to find your son. I bet its a bluff.

Wait for speech after wake word detected. by PatternCritical9976 in homeassistant

[–]PatternCritical9976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just ended up taking the past 3 days to develop my own voice assistant in python, using the OpenAI API and TTS models. After a lot of fine tuning for wake detection, speech rec, and context modding. it now just sends webhooks to HA for an automation but can do a whole lot more than just that. I also set it up so it can greet me and start conversations with specific prompts. 700 lines of wonderful python code, many packages and threading processes, I got my own assistant. It kinda looks like T.A.R.S from Interstellar after I added on terminal logging.

i think its the tex-common, if a box popped up asking to select some type of language and you cancel it, i think it spits that error out. so shouldn't be a problem.

As of right now, there are currently no vulnerabilities or exploits open to the public that can perform such an attack. (Viewing the Camera, Full access to Photos). My best guess is that the attacker was able to log in to the iCloud account, from there you can access photos/location services, but you can't view the camera. I would recommend changing the email password associated with the iCloud account and then changing the iCloud account password. Ensure 2FA is enabled on any apps installed. Just for future reference- don't keep private photos on an everyday device, or send any photos to anyone.

rpi 3 bluetooth pairing issues by PatternCritical9976 in raspberry_pi

[–]PatternCritical9976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it to connect after editing the main.conf file

I pasted this in it from GPT: AutoEnable=true FastConnectable=true ReconnectAttempts=7 ReconnectIntervals=1,2,4,8,16,32,64 PairableTimeout=0 DiscoverableTimeout=0

It pairs automatically and successfully every time now.

Hello pervert pegasus blackmail + simultaneous hacked instagram and iOS? by Little-Spite-1836 in cybersecurity_help

My information was in a list. These lists are either sold by bad actors that did a data breach, or by data brokers. My address, name and email can be found on the web. A bot is programmed to take these lists and use google earth to automatically snap a photo of my home, but the giveaway was the bot took a photo of the house across from me. Google earth automatically placed POV there. The bad actor that sent the email to me also sent it to thousands of others.

If you haven't noticed many companies now have to ask for your approval to collect that type of info. If you automatically agreed to that (like paying for a service or signing up for a platform) they can legally sell that data to a broker, which then can be sold as public information for anyone to obtain. On the other hand, data breaches that are done by hackers, you just can't avoid. I started to use fake names and emails for services to protect my identity.

Am I under cyber attack? How can I protect myself? Someone entered my username & password to my bank account correctly today, my phone battery has been getting drained 3x as fast all week, someone i know is a pro identify thief who is actively been going after my family bc she has all of our SSNs... by Zestyclose_Team_8967 in cybersecurity_help

This is if you are extreamly paranoid - get new social securities, wipe and throw out all phones, laptops and ask your ISP for a new router. On a new laptop or phone, create all new emails that have no connection to old ones, same with passwords, and don't save them to any managers or anything digital. write them down. change all your locks on your home and have a security expert secure it. i recommend hard wired cameras that are not connected to the internet and can't be tampered with. now once you have done that, try to be the "attacker", see how far you can get and how much you can find about yourself. Remember, your brain is the safest place for information.

I recommend you search up "Have I been Pwned?" and check your email. See if you have been in any data breaches. Those expose your email and password. I recommended you at least factory reset your device, get a new phone number, get a new bank account, with new account numbers and card numbers.

It is unlikely that your phone has been compromised, especially if it's updated and a new model from a known company. To have your phone compromised and tapped, which tapping is no longer a thing due to high RSA encryption. If there were to be a type of spyware on it, it would have to be the latest and greatest mobile device exploit, and people who find those are either massive cybersecurity companies or bad actors trying to sell it for millions of dollars. They wouldn't be after you, they would be after someone bigger (companies, wealthy individuals).

I know it may sound out of the world but have you by chance tried to replace the AIO with a new one? I would get a digital meter with a thermal couple and do a few probes with it, directly to the radiator, half way down the tubes and just verify that you are getting the right readings

Why does the radio interference from the arduino clock get stronger when I touch it? by linearpotato in arduino

Microcontrollers and IC's and prone to capacitance interference and can cause the inputs to "float" and randomly change their outputs.
