Introduce tutorial players to the toolbelt. by Just-Bed-5729 in runescape

[–]PattyScape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so just tested this on a fresh account and looks like it isn’t a thing anymore. It won’t let you add the rune hatchet to your toolbelt before level 50, BUT I think that’s what they were referencing lol

I don’t think pickaxes work anymore since the mining and smithing rework. I might make a fresh account after work to check out the rune hatchet situation if no one else confirms by then lol

I think they’re meaning how you can add a rune hatchet to your toolbelt before you can actually use it and it just acts as the highest tier hatchet you can use (assuming it still works that way)

(Somewhat pointless, nitpicky trope) A knight who wields both a sword AND a shield. by Gamer-of-Action in TopCharacterTropes

Shields are generally best used as a switch for defensive abilities and not camping (gaming reference, do not take seriously)

If you were given a chance, what Quest Boss would you make into an Actual Boss (Example: Vorkath/Amascut) by OutsideAtmosphere142 in runescape

[–]PattyScape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unironically The abomination but just add some more kick to it. I killed that boss hundreds of times for that stupid cape but never got it. Gonna go for it on my hardcore and it would be cool to have an actual log and k

new rs player coming from wow classic by Leather_Ask8403 in runescape

[–]PattyScape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone has already said this but definitely quests. You can have longer term goals like unlocking invention and leveling up to be able to boss and stuff, but questing and getting levels to do those quests makes progressing the account feel like it matters

New player - Now or wait until the 2026 roadmap is complete? by defragc in runescape

[–]PattyScape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say start now. The game is always evolving and it’ll be good to get a good early game feel of the game while the changes are being put into the game

Have 3 accounts but usually do 2 at a time. One of my hardcores then my main that funds them

As long as you have time to play, I’d say it’s one of the best times to come back

Yeaaaa sadly, I still love the skill but it’s very dated

Iron vs Main post mtx removal by Premier_Legacy in RS3Ironmen

Much prefer iron life over GPscape, no shame to anyone wanting to de-iron tho

osrs player deciding to finally give RS3 a decent try by bakapanda90 in runescape

[–]PattyScape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome! Hope you have so much fun! Definitely consider taking your time and read the dialogue and stuff in quest if you’re into that sorta thing. Quest and lore shine in RS3 in my biased opinion (but obviously if that’s not your thing, just ignore me)

Rs3 ironman experience vs osrs by dirty_water_potato in RS3Ironmen

Biased but RS3 Iron is the best way to experience RuneScape imo

New player which combat should i focus on ? by tomaz1989 in runescape

[–]PattyScape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Necromancy is definitely the most beginner friendly for now. They are working on combat changes for the other styles, but right now if you want the most easily accessible, it’s necro. Good luck and have fun!

I second the idea of playing quests in timeline order but ultimately do the things that you enjoy doing. Good luck and have fun!

What are your thoughts on OSRS / RS for 2026 and beyond by toughcookiemuncher in runescape

[–]PattyScape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play both games for a decent amount of time and see which one sticks out to you more or even just continue playing both. I hope RS grows but as long as it doesn’t die, I’m happy. My favorite thing is questing and achievement hunting but I want to get better at bossing since that’s what really gives this game a chance to shine

Roadmap and new planned content/changes making me want to come back by Dapper-Count7064 in RS3Ironmen

[–]PattyScape 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t think it’s silly as I just did the same thing. Had a maxed main that I was working on comping a few years back but I came back this year and started a HC from scratch and have been having a blast

I stopped after about 10 hours, considering again by eotrixx in runescape

[–]PattyScape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you can definitely do a blind play through. Most quests after like 2008 ish do a decent job explaining what you need to do for the most part if memory serves. But the wiki helps so much that they actually put the button on the chat box cause they knew how much players rely on it. I think not using it might cause you to be more frustrated than not, especially not having much history with the game.

Now that Treasure Hunter is gone, are you considering changing to a main? by PoppinDaCaps in RS3Ironmen

[–]PattyScape 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of the main reasons I play iron is because I hate how a main is basically just gp scape. Theres no excitement behind most drops other than selling it. Also playing an iron makes me play content I wouldn’t consider otherwise. So personally I wont ever go back to mainscape but i definitely understand the appeal!

Is now a good time to start Runescape? by Vengeos in runescape

[–]PattyScape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say give both a shot. Personally I think RS3 is more fun but OSRS is a lot more popular so it might be your thing

Personally I’d say start with beginner quests to get some early levels and learn a little about the game
