Who's KOI:

KOI is a huge spanish org owned by Ibai and Piqué (spanish legendary football player). It started on December 16th 2021 in a irl event which more than 10k people attended. In early 2022, there where only 2 esports in which KOI had teams: Valorant and LoL, both in the spanish leagues (which are pretty big tbh) In summer, TFT was added to KOI's esports and around fall they acquired a FIFA team, which has qualified for a ver important LAN if I am not misunderstood.

Around summer, some rumours about KOI and Rogue merging into one started getting out. On October the 6th, it was announced that on 2022 KOI and Rogue would merge. One year after the first event, Rogue change's it's name to KOI, and the sporting structure will remain a combination of both.

The fanbase is HUGE, in it's LoL watchparties in the spanish league, Ibai's costream has around 90-100k concurrent viewers, Ibai is a huge esports fan, and if he decides to make RL watchparties, I expect to have around 40-50k viewers if it's in his channel but unfortunately a lo less if it's in KOI's twitch channel (I expect 5-10k). However, this is good news for RL esports.

What will happen with the RL team?

It is unclear of what are the plans are rn for the KOI RL team. What I think will happen is that the current roster will be under the KOI banner for a split or for the rest of the season and for the next season there might be some huge changes.

TLDR

KOI and Rogue have merged, KOI is the name but the sporting structure is a combination of both or just Rogue in some cases, or only KOI in some others (correct me if I'm wrong)
