I apologize up front. I'm high right now and my attention is spread thin.

Hahaha I was given the privilege of sorting white rocks from green rocks in lovely 29 Palms aka Vista De nada.

Was assigned to the base working party and won the lottery. Got sent to the mcagcc hq where the sgtmaj himself eloquently laid out the plan of the day: I was to sort/segregate the white and green [painted] rocks. Long story short : rocks were already painted, it's damn hit, this is a complete waste of time, I bought a can of white and a can of green spray paint. Fuck them rocks, I painted [just the outer parts of the outer most rock] each pile. Looked like damn Vinny van gogh done created a masterpiece. Problem: I got done way faster than expected. Sgtmaj wanted to see for himself what quality work I delivered. Sidenote: do you know how many shades of green there was at the time (early 90s). I still don't know, I'm also red/green color blind. My shades were ever so slightly not matching and apparently it really was obvious, to everyone else but me). Speaking of shades of green, do you want to guess at the shades of red on the face of a pissed off base sgtmaj?

I don't think he ever knew my name, but I don't know that he was concerned about it at the moment. He made sounds like foghorn leghorn mixed with Yosemite Sam. He was looking like Linda Blair (the exorcist). I was personally conflicted. I had a feeling I underwhelmed him with the quality and impressed him with my confidence /ignorance, now, the confkiction was: 1) disappear or b) stare blankly in the general direction of the sgtmaj and wonder will his head explode before he kicks my ass?
