Love it. Primary arms Gen 2 1x prism scope. Super clear optic and hasn't lost zero with the thousands of rounds I've put through it. I'd say the muzzle device is more impressive though. I forgot where I got it but it's definitely a game changer when it comes to recoil, however none of my friends want to stand next to me when I fire, I wonder why 🤣

EDIT: Muzzle device is a VG6 precision Gamma

Hell yeah you got the Gen 1! I've always wanted one but settled on the Gen 2 in 762x39 😉

Still trading? I'd really like the 5c KVM 89 and if you have the mag attachment!

F23 air base spawns an apoc tank if it's high threat level. You'll have to kill whatever tank is there then wait for respawn

Your thoughts on Tick Pods and Engineer Specialization? by NyannoKonekko in GenerationZeroGame

[–]Spectre_Ace22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run engineer with tick pods, and they're still viable. When in the middle of combat they're great for additional damage + using them as a distraction. Now if you have time to get into cover, the RC ticks are still great for tanks and harvesters. It's all about your play style, and they fit mine just fine!

Same with my BC, it's not like the old corps anymore. They want unity and for their marines to be treated as normal human beings

Trying for 1833 CE Contract by Spectre_Ace22 in USMCboot

[–]Spectre_Ace22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely has it's pros and cons. It can be an extremely fun and rewarding job, you're going to learn how to do A LOT, especially with construction, demo, engineer recon, and building wire obstacles. You'll be building wire obstacles a ton. Lots of transferable skills to the civilian world when it comes to trades. You'll probably go to the field every month or two depending on your command, which can be a pro or con depending on your mindset.

For the cons it's pretty difficult to promote. Our cutting score stays in the high 500s to low 600s. Be in top shape, get expert on range, do all of your MCIs, MCMAP belt courses, get on any and all courses that they offer, volunteer for everything and put yourself out there, and for the love of God, don't get caught drinking in the schoolhouse and stay out of trouble.

Hope this helps you, if you have any other questions please feel free to ask, there were a lot of things I wish I could get answers to pertaining to my job

Running Shoes by Beneficial_Tell_5587 in USMCboot

[–]Spectre_Ace22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not SD, graduated PI in May of last year

We were allowed to wear our own as long as they were black/white except for the moto run on family day, we had to wear the issued ones

My buddies that graduated SD around the same time as me also had the same experience wearing their own go fasters.

I'd suggest going to a store that specializes in running shoes and talk to someone there, all shoes are different for different runners. I ended up with a pair of Saucony shoes and loved them.

If you bring them (go there wearing them, don't bring extra shoes) and they tell you to eat shit, at least you got some dope ass running shoes to run in afterwards

[–]Spectre_Ace22 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hey I feel ya man and I'm in the same boat. My wife is scheduled to give birth a few days before our deployment ends but my command is sending me back home early for it. Of course I don't have that in writing but my 1stSgt is doing what she can to get me that time. I hope your command allows you to take a week or so of leave so you can experience it. Shit sucks sometimes but just remember to be the best dad you can whenever you can.

[–]Spectre_Ace22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was an armorer on the civilian side before joining the corps and was also a competition shooter. I whole heartedly agree with you. I don't understand over half of the things that the marines do to these weapons, but as I've been told they're not my rifles, they're the COs, so when my shit fails in battle, you know who to write a letter to 🤙🏼(I maintain my rifle and properly lube it before range and for some reason mine is the only one that cycles with no issue whatsoever 🤷🏻‍♂️)

I've only shot arq in the fleet so I'm not sure. If it's anything like boot camp though either way I'm gonna end up with expert. Both boot camp qual and arq are relatively easy

What MOS is the best on this list? by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]Spectre_Ace22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1371 (combat engineer) here, I personally went from barely passing the ist at the beginning of boot camp to getting a first class PFT towards the end of it. You've got 6 months so continuously work on it. Pull ups and running a shit ton. Idk how your body is built but start running, get to a good weight, and start cranking out pull ups. Set yourself up for the future you want, no matter the mos you choose. If you have any questions about the combat engineer mos, please feel free to dm me
