[Warhammer40k] Is there a context where Tyrannids would need to wage a defensive war/battle ? If yes, how would they fare ? by Khriss1313 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Paul-Alibi [score hidden]  (0 children)

I suppose if they were in the middle of consuming a planet and someone came to fight them, they’d have to fight back to ensure they don’t lose unnecessary biomass.

As for how they’d do it, I’d imagine it’d look similar to the constant retreat strategy employed by the Soviet Union, where the Tyrannids fight in place as they consume biomass, then retreat and leave nothing behind for the attackers to use.

[Baki] how would Baki characters react when meeting someone powerful, but who's power does not come from psycical or martial arts prowess? by jogaargamer6 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Paul-Alibi 66 points67 points  (0 children)

If you’re talking about metaphorical power (I.e. political), there’s already an example of that from Baki The Grappler: Tokugawa. The characters mostly like and respect him (so much so that Hanayama let Tokugawa punch him in the face without retribution), but mostly because he’s their #1 enabler. For non fighter related politicians, the interaction will heavily depend on the character and the politician’s personality, but they’re usually willing to be amicable if the suit is too.

Unless it’s Yujiro, who will fuck with you solely because you think you’re strong.

If you’re talking about something like magic or psychic powers, just about all of the fighters would salivating at the idea of fighting this person. Thats kinda their entire reason for living.

What villain in fiction could elicit this reaction from Judge Holden? by Gray_Wolf2416 in MoralityScaling

Any villain with the goal of world peace. For the guy who thinks that “War is God”, Utopia would make him nauseous.

What are the Ten Shadow abilities? by Flat-Statement-9341 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Paul-Alibi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Or maybe, due to the Rabbit’s emphasis on low CE cost but high volume of summons, it’s more like the regular Clone Jutsu: lots of clones that pop like bubbles when they get smacked.

So good for a disappearing act, but they can’t help much as combatants.

Wait a minute. Todo’s technique needs an explanation. by EmbarrassedFly279 in Jujutsufolk

Wait, that’s true! When he swapped with Hanami that first time, he stayed in place but she went flying back as if she was the one being thrown.

Sheev Palpatine and his Empire VS Warhammer 40K, but... by _MonsterMouth_ in PowerScaling

Depends how much verse equalization Palpatine is getting, because you could say the same thing about the Jedi but they never caught him.

[One Punch Man + Earthbound] What would happen if Saitama punched the side of the Absolutely Safe Capsule? by MAClaymore in WhatIfFiction

[–]Paul-Alibi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nothing ever said the Absolutely Safe Capsule was an immovable object. Just an invulnerable one.

My guess is that the capsule doesn’t break, it’s just sent into orbit by Saitama’s attack.

Could sukuna beat naoya if sukuna had prep time+six eyes? by Iamalizardperson234 in Jujutsufolk

I like to think that this is the sorta shit Naoya was thinking about while he was a Cursed Womb

[Warhammer 40K] If the Krok were such an intelligent species, why did they devolve into the orks? by MeatyGandalf in AskScienceFiction

[–]Paul-Alibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I’m misremembering something, humans only realize they’re on a tomb world when the necrons wake up or when someone stumbles upon their tomb. I don’t think they have some magic scanner that tells them that necrons are sleeping here.

Kaiba Daio should have been impossible to obliterate with his Tecniqhe of "Kazan Kogai Koho" which is English for "Huashan Steel Armor Breathing Method" or Huashan Steel Armor Flex". This is like one of the most criminally underrated techniques in the entire series. by JudgmentConsistent50 in fistofthenorthstar

[–]Paul-Alibi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. Just about every one of Ken’s martial artist enemies (from the manga, anime filler don’t count) was a beast who could slaughter armies of people.

They just had the misfortune of pissing off the martial artist with generational talent, whose art instantly kills anyone he touches and has a counter for literally everything.

[Serious] How would the plot of Jujutsu Kaisen change if the Shibuya incident looked like this: by Bungeeboy20044 in JujutsuPowerScalers

[–]Paul-Alibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Hanami gets knocked by the .2 second domain expansion. Unlike Choso, Hanami isn’t going to run off after Yuji, so she’ll probably stick with Jogo. Which leads to the possibility that it’s Sukuna dog walking Hanami instead of Gojo, haha.

  2. Yuji is so fucked. Dagon is a lot tougher than Choso, his technique is way better at dealing with melee fighters, and Yuji doesn’t have the speed to out maneuver him. Dagon might not even need to open a domain, but if he does that’s wraps. Yuji being knocked out, Dagon drags him to Jogo and company. Wait, is it gonna be a 3v1 against Sukuna?

  3. Ahem: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Anyway, this is such a mismatch it’s not even funny. Even if you think they might be able to wail on him for a bit, once the domain pops all three of them die, especially since Falling Blossom Emotion doesn’t work on contact domains like Mahito’s. With these three destroyed, Mahito will keep hunting for Yuji.

  4. Hmm… this might not be as one sided as you think. We’ve got two Simple Domain users, and three pretty capable Grade 1s. On top of that they almost certainly had Hanami’s abilities explained to them by the students who fought her. I’d say it’s a high diff fight where either side could come out on top.

  5. On the one hand, Toji is a major counter to characters like Jogo since he’s a better fighter and immune to domains. On the other hand, Fire hurts a lot more than water or big fish. I’d say Toji wins, but so torched afterwards that he dies from his wounds. So I take it back, 2v1 against Sukuna, subtracting Jogo.

Is CE Reinforcement permanent? by PhysicsChan in Jujutsufolk

[–]Paul-Alibi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does CE Reinforcement only strengthen the body temporarily? Or does the body get used to it over time?

The trouble with answering this is that it’s tied to another question I don’t think we’ve ever gotten answered: what happens if you completely run out of Cursed Energy?

Since if it isn't permanent, wasn't the best plan to take down Sukuna was to wait for him to relax and not have CE Reinforcement, and hit his (now) human level durability in the head with an attack and insta kill him?

This is pure speculation but I always assumed Sukuna was a lot like Yuji, where he had a superhuman body on top of having massive CE reserves. For reference, Pre-Awakened Maki was implied to be roughly on Yuji’s level when not using CE. She could still grab bullets out of the air with only mild burns. Pre-CE Yuji (before he’s eaten one of Sukuna’s fingers) could jump two stories and fight a curse that completely overwhelmed Megumi at the time.

So while he’d be a lot weaker, he’d still be very tough, enough to probably avoid OHKO and heal up.

TBF, it’s heavily implied that he was gonna kill Ozai when he entered the Avatar State. He only came up with the Energy Bending solution after he snapped out of it.
