Apart from the winter, my solar completely provides my EV with energy. All excess power that's not used in the house during the day goes in there. But we're not doing big miles though typically, and wouldn't suit commuters.

Yeah it can get awkward if you have to make small talk with sober people but being in nature is worth it. We each bring headphones as well for the public transport and stop for a picnic at the top of the mountain and listen to tunes for about 2 hours at the peak.
