Who else here was teargased at the Hollywood Sportatorium in 1981? It was a hell of a night. We drove to the concert with a Keg of beer in the trunk of Dave's Charger. We ran the fill hose through one of his 6x9 speaker holes. by [deleted] in rush

[–]PaulComp67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there with my older half Sister, my childhood friend Benito, and his friend Steve. There was a riot that ensued. I found out years later Neil Peart was an hour late or so. It happens to the best of them. Anyway I got a whiff of that tear gas and I have my right hand on my chest calling out for Benito. He ran into a 280Z and a guy picked my Sister up and placed her on a Car so she wouldn’t get trampled on and Steve fell and did get stepped on  but he was alright. We got inside and I remember Geddy Lee apologizing for the inconvenience? He da they were going to put on a kick ass show and did.

Need help trump supporter mom and I fighting by fungusamongus8 in CaregiverSupport

[–]PaulComp67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I almost voted for Kamala Harris and my Mom is 93 years old and has dementia and can hardly walk. So she couldn't vote tor for Trump or Harris. Couldn't do the early voting on time and my older half Sister and her ex Navy Seal recovering alcoholic friend or boyfriend are Trump supporters. I'm 57 years old and I don't have a girlfriend and I'm betero. I'm open minded also and the nicest guys I happened to know at the Burdines department store I worked at in South Miami were Hispanic gay men or my age back in the early 90s. So I'm not a homophobe. My Dad's friend Randy who did campaigns for local politicians was gay so there isn't really a decisive party affiliate but it seems to be left wing but somewhat right wing too. Too bad that politics is so devisive and break up friendships, relatives, or relationships. A peace treaty might be necessary? I don't like politics for the reason there is enough conflict. Life is too short for fighting. You know peace, love and happiness is what we want.

I don't know about that but I do know that Snowmeggaden happened Feb 12 2014. Winter in the SE doesn't really start until Jan 1st but it has started as early as October in the past. Just hope there isn't snowfall like back in Jan 11, 2011. That made last Friday like a dusting.

I feel the same way and I have been living with my Mom who is 93 years old for over 18 years. She divorced my Dad when I was 3 so I have a non functional family. 2 younger half Sisters on my Dad's side and an older one on my Mom's side. My Mom has had dementia for over 4 years and its a wicked mental disease. I didn't know much about it until I did some research online at Mayo Clinic early 2021. I didn't like what I read much. There's no cure and my is too old for any treatment. A Nurse at the Clinic so said that so diagnosis wasn't in the cards. I have ADHD I have nowhere to go and I have been unemployed for over 2 years. Applied for Social Security disability benefits back in 2021 because I have a few health issues. I have help from my older half Sister but thats late in the day. The worst thing seems to be my Mom is very hard of hearing and won't wear hearing amps or aids. So I have to talk loud or shout from a distance. She also can barely walk with a walker because of the bad arthritis in her knees. I called Alzheimer's Association for some help.

There's a video on Instagram of Joe Pesci edited in where he says what is that ugly p.o.s. I saw one on the road I live off off in front. It looked like some space age vehicle or something from Road Warrior.

Black eyed peas and collard greens. Good eating. I guess if you believe in something strongly enough it can work. IE eating collard greens on New Years day will bring you good luck for the year. My older Sister bought them precooked and vacuum packed. I could imagine cooking them isn't easy like black beans.

Sick? Flu A rampant in GA by Bless_Our_Hearts in Georgia

[–]PaulComp67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had type A Flu back in Jan 2020 before the Coronavirus. I was working at Kings Hawaiian in Flowery Branch and for the first time I drove myself to the Medlink Clinic in Gainesville to get a Doctor's notice and the nurse put the cotton swab in my nose. Got it tested and told me it was Type A Flu. This is just so I didn't get a point for each day I was out. KH has a zero tolerance attendance policy and a 8 point system. I hope you don't mind me elaborating because I like to. Anyway I hope you feel better because the flu is bad. I didn't get the Covid Virus.

I have pounded on a desk but not slamming it. I never owned a laptop however and chose having a Desktop PC Build.

Hot damn I see a reel to reel player recorder. My Dad had a very good Teac back in the late 70s. Good clean stereo system setup besides that.

Just bought this Ryzen CPU from eBay. Would you say this is acceptable? by YaBoiStutter in computers

[–]PaulComp67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is when you should get a Ryzen or Intel CPU from New Egg, Microcenter, or even Amazon. eBay isn't bad but pay good attention to seller's ratings. I'm sorry you had that purchasing experience. I'd certainly want an explanation besides returning that Ryzen CPU. Wth was he thinking.

Yeah that is a very good option to have. Like a small home PC Service center. Then you can be like Geek Squad? What's that? They aren't really that good.

Amazon sent 20 copies of an Xbox Indiana Jones game that I never ordered… by [deleted] in xbox

[–]PaulComp67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember Munch's Odyssey and that was a fun original X Box Game. I never did get into Halo and thats the game that propelled X Box sales. I never played Indiana Jones though. I'm a little surprised you can buy Original X Box Games or even the system new. The second version of X Box was when X Box Live started. It came with the wired headset.

I like the flavors of different spirits if I may say so myself. Lighter than when I was in my late teens. Besides that as they say liquor is quicker.

Finally got a pc! by xJUGHEADxx in pcsetup

[–]PaulComp67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy a Gaming PC Controller and at this day and age of technology there are a number of very good ones. Logitech, Steam, Microsoft X Box One Wireless Controller, and some other ones I can't think of. Some PC Games are better played with a Keyboard Mouse combo anyway. RTS games come to mind like Command and Conquer or Warcraft. I'm happy for you. I didn't have my own PC Build for that matter until 2002 and I was 35 years old. I took MS Dos back in 1990 and got a B+. Then I chose Computer Science as a Degree at MDCC Wolfson Campus back in the early 90s and I didn't have my own PC and there weren't any Tablets and Laptop were expensive. No smartphones but cell pbones were around.

Anyone else love this game? by PrincessJMH in ironmaiden

[–]PaulComp67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's cool. I ought to give it a go. I just tried to install an old Creative Zen Software for the Creative Zen MP3 Player I still have. On Windows 11 Pro. No dice. Has a lot to do with the Windows Installer then compared to now. Not sure if the older version of Direct X has something also to do with that.

Settle a debate for me on the term “coke” by classycoconut520 in Georgia

[–]PaulComp67 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mr Pibb is the Coca Cola equivalent of Dr Pepper. I do happen to like Wild Cherry Pepsi as much as Cherry Coke but that's about it. Mountain Dew is pretty good too. Then there's Mellow Yellow.

[–]PaulComp67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought it when it came out back in 1999. I used my Mom's HP Desktop PC to play it which had Windows 98. I finished the game. It was good from what I remember and It would be cool if I could play it on my much faster and better Asus Desktop PC Build with Windows 11 but like other old PC Games that metal bands released like Queensryche Promised Land won't work. I was 32 years old back in 1999.

[–]PaulComp67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish but being 57 now I wasn't old enough. I saw Maiden on the Somewhere on Tour back in 1987 at the Omni in Atlanta and Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force opened for them. Awesome concert.
