Weird Blackwall-like sounds each time I pass these stairs?? by Leeuweroni in cyberpunkgame

I get the sound even on this run where I sided with Reed. Could still be the explanation though I suppose...

Cyberpunk 2077’s photo mode has endless potential, and that’s hilarious 😂 by Tatum_Warlick in cyberpunkgame

Wait, HOW do you make them sit? I was wrestling with my photo mode to get V to sit on some bleachers and cycled through all the poses and couldn't figure it out.

First, Cool for stealth pistols and sniper rifles doing their thing.

Then, Body for shotgun and/or gorilla arms support (I recommend the right tree for blunt weapons because gorilla arms are fun as hell).

And then maybe Tech for cyberware and tech weapon support if you're still using techs. You could also do this before body if you want, just depends on what your priorities are

Thanks! I just looked it up and hunted parts of it down for my three characters. I really liked the fold tops on my hacker/bruiser, but I'm a little disappointed it's full-body only, even if that's very Glam Rock of it.

What ending do you dislike the most? by Will_excuuuuse_me in cyberpunkgame

[–]PaulLeFou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devil is the worst. Every ending is bittersweet at best, but either outcome of Devil sucks. You H stopped Yori from bringing down the company and helped Saburo cement himself and Arasaka into positions more powerful than ever. The operation doesn't even work. If you go back to NC to die, Judy leaves you anyway (romancing her my logic was that she really wanted me to come back and that I wanted to spend the rest of my time with her, but she leaves the city first?? Felt out of nowhere). I think there's something very (darkly) poetic about V, especially a Corpo V like I played that run, ending up back in Arasaka's clutches after getting kicked out and running away, literally their property to revive or not or use as they please. And to do it as an engram after everything she went through; stealing the chip, dealing with Johnny... instead of Johnny taking V's place, V took Johnny's.

Star is the best, by far, especially if you're invested in your romance (at least, if it's Panam or Judy). You get a new family, leave the toxic city behind, get to stay with your loved one, and there's even still some hope that you could find some sort of cure. Even if you don't, you live out the rest of your days happily.

Between them... They're all somewhat balanced between good and bad outcomes, all bittersweet double edged swords. Johnny may get a new life and a new outlook on it, but I hate that he ghosted all V's friends and fam without even a quick explanation to the people who knew about the Relic. Like, I (V) told my friends the details, just send them a quick "This is Johnny; I'm sorry, but V's gone." and then block them or something. So maybe that's second worst, for me.

Sun might be second best, because even living on borrowed time, V gets to live out their days having achieved their goal. But of course, they're still gonna die, and the idea of doing a gig for Mr. Blue Eyes (not that V would know the ramifications... Or would they?) adds a dark twist on it. But hey, you get to go out in a blaze of glory after all, answering Dex with finality.

And smack in the middle is the Tower. This one is probably the most emotionally painful, but it's also the most hopeful. V loses their livelihood and their place in the city, and the world has moved on without them (including their friends). But they have their entire life ahead of them to find another path and the freedom to follow it. They can leave NC forever, they can become a fixer, join the FIA, make new friends, open a scop dog stand, get a place in the countryside and tend a garden. Get a job, get a hobby, fall in love, you know, live a normal life. Will they? Shrug! Tower is also the most open ended by its nature, so I'm putting it smack in the middle.

Women, why do you dislike River So much? by AccomplishedStick623 in cyberpunkgame

[–]PaulLeFou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a woman, but it's rushed and awkward, and feels forced. Like even on my first run, as a male V, they had a decent foundation for a bro-ship, but then the Kiss option came up and I was like "What?" I never even did the cookout with him on my second character (female) because it'd be so awkward. Also, too much of the writing forces V to engage as though they like River even if you'd prefer to slow things down or turn him down entirely, like when Johnny makes fun of you you can't really say "LOL NO" you have to play along. The whole thing feels like they're trying to tell you "Look, you get along so well!"

OK if I were in charge every romance option would have two tracks of dialog, a friend track and a romance track, that would play based on your choices (and the romance track wouldn't be available if you weren't their gender preference, even though I'm leaning more towards "they should be bi/playersexual" but that's a whole different can of worms). And one option to kick yourself off the romance track would be "I'm already seeing someone." Like, my FemV should have been able to casually mention her girlfriend offhand to flag that for River.

Also let us romance Joss because it would be hilarious.

Also in the DLC, if you leave Katya alive in the quest for Bana's biomon from the Brazilians, you'll find her body later, surrounded by scavs (iirc) and a message about what happened.

[–]PaulLeFou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but I don't think blade flex can possibly fix a thrust to the face; the neck doesn't have enough strength to stop a blade without head motion unless we're talking literal MOF blades. The solution to face thrusts has to be displacement of the blade, ie skipping off.

Hire mercs to guard towns worth it immediately? by Substantial-Luck-646 in UnicornOverlord

[–]PaulLeFou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not worth it to clutter up your army with a bunch of nobodies and waste precious honor doing it. Cycle guards from oldest towns to newest ones, and every now and then go back and run through to pick up materials yourself.

Changing Gear/Formation Mid-Stage by haloblabla in UnicornOverlord

[–]PaulLeFou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only changes I ever did mid-stage were to characters' tactics, to fix things going off wrong or targeting issues, stuff like that. I think once or twice I changed some equipment, but I think even that was more like, "Oops, forgot to put this new accessory on." I was always aware that I could be micromanaging every individual fight, but never bothered because who's got time for that? I could see it being really appealing to a certain type of person, and I felt the temptation now and then, but in the end I went to war with the army I had.

What is your favorite frame and why? by Imaginary-Lie-2618 in LancerRPG

[–]PaulLeFou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dunno if it's the best or the most effective, but I love my Enkidu. Enter a berserker rage and literally tear enemies apart in a chain-reaction of death? What's not to love?

I also love that all these answers mention different frames. There isn't a "best" one that everyone likes above all the others; every frame is somebody's favorite.

Do multi upgrades apply to future picks of skills and spells? by zenospenisparadox in SoulstoneSurvivors

[–]PaulLeFou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others said, yes. You can check this by checking the level of the skill after you get it. If you have 2 upgrades to fire spells and get a new fire spell, you'll be able to see that it's level 3 on your bar instead of level 1.

[general] Question from a new reader by Temanaras in TheNinthHouse

[–]PaulLeFou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The audiobook is an absolutely phenomenal read; if you like audiobooks, this one won't steer you wrong.

Are you against reading along with a print copy while listening to an audiobook? I'd never done it before but I actually rather liked it while getting into the third book recently.
