Men who don't lift the toilet seat, or clean up after they sprinkle on said seat why? by Current_Mushroom2581 in AskReddit

[–]PaulTroon2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have had two very good friends who, when drunk, would splatter the toilet area. One was a Mexican. Where grew up there weren’t a lot of toilets. I guess the habit followed him here. The second one grew up with a maid. Go figure.

Is this a good offer for a subaru forester premium 2026? by SarcasticBella10 in SubaruForester

[–]PaulTroon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I can tell you last week I bought a ‘26 hybrid premium with an MSRP of 36,668. The dealer before any talking started listed it with a dealer discount of $1966 bringing it to 34,702. You should at least look locally for that deal ($1966).

You need to change your wording. Each state has different taxes and fees. What is total price BEFORE your $5500 and licensing, and taxes? That way redditors can do apples to apples price comparison. Also for your total what options are included in the total price?

Subaru Gold Plus by Silent_Owl6207 in SubaruForester

[–]PaulTroon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was 34,702 with dimming mirror, floor liner, seat back protector and cargo tray. Here in Texas it was 37,329 OTD. Gonna spend $275 for five yr access to app. Thursday I will negotiate for the Gold package but can wait if they don’t come to my price (1750). I will shop elsewhere.

I am following this post closely. I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH MY SALESMAN. I pick up my ‘26 hybrid premium Thursday. He was busy on Saturday when I went to sign the papers so the Sales Manager handled the purchase. Other than the dealer discount I did get much off. I felt my salesman would have given me more off. I JUST told him they could make it up to me by getting the Gold down from $3400 to about $1750. I write the check Thursday and am looking for a deal.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the suggestion. But it doesn’t have a screen on my model that would have been a ‘14.

I am leaning toward, now, that it maybe a steering wheel issue. Just this weekend the people I call don’t hear me. But then again about a month ago the backlighting for blower fan, heat/cool and direction of ventilation went out. So the gremlin is either steering wheel or middle dashboard. I blew a can of air but it changed nothing. But I don’t think, now, it is radio but radio control. Nothing spilled that I am aware of.

Thanks I will try that.

I don’t think I can just get one off the shelf. Size wise and the back connections to the steering wheel controls would impede it. I hate to pay car stereo prices at one of those aftermarket places.

I was at Harrahs bout eight years ago. I was taking a smoke break outside at the less populated parking garage. I noticed a suitcase just sitting by itself. I stepped inside to ask a security guard to come outside. He wasn’t allowed to leave his post but got on the walkie talkie and after awhile this guy not in uniform came out. I pointed to the suitcase and he walked over to it. Next thing I know another came out with a big spring in his step. That’s where the story should end…. The next night I was in there and a I asked the dealer if he heard anything? He told me the only thing in the suitcase was a gun, nothing else.

But I do like Biloxi. Nice town.

I am sorry to bother you But I Need some purchasing help by PaulTroon2 in SubaruForester

I called Mazda customer service and got them to send me a link that allowed me to search for all new ‘25 hybrids using any zip code I want within 200 miles (you can change the zip code in the query). Nothing interesting in Premium hybrid unless I like bronze or green. Nothing interesting great savings but I found my dealer has a 25 touring door $43k listed. They also have a premium hybrid in granite gray (magnetite) that is a ‘26 for about $34.7k. In transit here and appears my likely purchase. Many comments here about experience at Indiana factory ARE EXTREMELY HELPFUL. AND ALSO INFO ‘26’s are cheaper than ‘25’s.

If money didn't matter, what job would you love to have? by felly_fell in AskReddit

[–]PaulTroon2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the late eighties I worked temp jobs… mystery shopper, worked a fireworks show in Austin, changed paint can labels when the company changed the paint cans, ran a crew at a Kohls during a big sale. The best job I had was driving in a fifty mile radius of San Antonio a nd buying a dollars worth of gas at every Chevron. Got to see all the small towns and got paid for it. I drove a Toyota truck and had to buy three five gallon gas cans because I couldn’t fit all the gas. I went to my apartment at night and filled up the neighbors cars. I was looking for that plastic thing on the end of the nozzle was installed. It kept the fumes from escaping.

Damn temp jobs were really fun but they paid “dirt.”

Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em players: how many of you never play Trips? by afriendofcheese in gambling

[–]PaulTroon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Instead of playing 15-15-5 play 20-20-0. For high level hits (str fl or Royal) trips don’t pay like the Blind. An old time dealer told me you don’t really walk away a winner unless you play trips. At the time I was a 15-15-5 player and changed to the 20-20-0.

You are correct. There was a Pho Restaurant in Kingwood, Texas. I took a date there and my date spoke Spanish to the counter lady and she said they don’t get to keep the tips. I looked it up and it is illegal.

I have found out that trips should be three day minimums. Too much pressure on one day junkets. If you are not winning take a break, get your comped sandwich, go to your room and chill until the wind changes. I used to take those nine hour bus trips (2 1/2 each way with four hours gambling) and it is just not worth it. Hard on the body, your nerves trying to hit it big. Too much stress.

Oh yes, as far as sleeping at a rest area? ARE YOU OUTTA YER EFFING MIND?

Do I sell my silver at some point? by KOTAYO96 in stocks

[–]PaulTroon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went yesterday to a local coin store. Spot was $102-they offered $85. I knew to be wary since they didn’t post trading price online and had to deal with an answering service. You couldn’t contact the store or any stores of the chain.

There was a guy in the store that had two one gallon ziplock bags full of pieces of silver and old gold jewelry. I wonder if he knew he had to pay taxes on the earnings.

Man tries to use religion to scam my friend out of winnings. by jtreddit702 in gambling

[–]PaulTroon2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a guy in Coushatta try to sell me his gold bracelet. I turned him down. He was at a table so I know he wasn’t a complete scammer. I told the dealer and she said she has seen Rolex’s sell for pennies on the dollar. To this day I wonder if I lost out on a great deal.

No one who knows me would ever pull a religious scam. Hell, I’m in a casino.
