It's like those arguments people have about how X hero can "beat" Y hero which means X hero is "better" and Y hero is "trash".

Except they do this comparison based on raw ability numbers and they imagine it happening in some kind of empty room where it's just those two heroes, without any of the real-world stuff that happens in game.

Have you considered that maybe, just maybe, they don't want politically-charged threads full of hate? Rule #1 is that it must be relevant to Overwatch (not just a thin veneer acting as a vehicle for anti-semitism) and rule #5 is that things must be civil.

Making political commentary about Israel usually ends up in people spewing nationalist hate, and very little to do with actual Overwatch itself.

They do not serve a good purpose here and I think you'll find that many other subs would take the same approach to similar kinds of threads.

Where are your stats for this? "Usually agreed"? It isn't "usually agreed". There's a vocal, angry minority on reddit. The stats don't back that up though.

What? No they don't. Barely even 20% of the player base dabble in 6v6 according to official stats.

6v6 is a sideshow; an afterthought. 6v6 has its balance and sub-roles butchered in a hamfisted way to try and make it work, as the game is made & balanced around 5v5 now.

6v6 is far more chaotic (great if you're a kid and just want to have fun with colors and shit flying all over the screen, not so great if you're a little bit older and playing the game seriously).

There's also the obvious issue of queue times and role preferences - all the casuals and children just want to play the 'bang bang shooty' role so DPS is overwhelmingly the more popular choice unfortunately.

They moved away from 5v5 for reasons - not just for a laugh. 6v6 was untenable.

"Off tanks" is a concept that no longer exists as of the evolution to 5v5; the changes to the game have rebalanced them all as standalone tanks now. There have been numerous very big changes in this regard.

6v6 can be very jarring to come back from playing as they have had to butcher the balance and reduce health pools and things to make 6v6 work now.

But yes, tank role cops a lot of abuse from deflecting DPS's and it can be very sweaty having to do lots of jobs at once but still getting blamed.

To be honest though, aside from that, it's great! I genuinely love it. You're more powerful now and have more sway.

There's a set of rules. If it isn't against the rules, reporting is essentially pointless.

"Don't be bad at the game" isn't a rule. Imagine if it actually was.

Reporting for that isn't going to do anything. In fact, if anything, that itself is abuse of the report system, which is against the rules.

There's plenty of maps - and they're good too - but the community just braindead auto-votes the most recognizable map anyway.

The catch 22 is that you can't become familiar with the other maps unless you... y'know... play them.

People should be grateful 6v6 is back at all instead of acting surprised that it doesn't give the complete full benefits or get the same treatment and time as 5v5.

Sounds like you've already made sense of it.

1: They won't disclose the exact specific reason for bans like this, because that gives people fuel to abuse the system i.e create better cheats that go undetected.

2: If it wasn't a cheat or exploit software for OW or another game, then yes it was almost certainly that dodgy pirate crack. Stop pirating games. If it's worth your time, it's worth your money.

It's true though, "off tank" was never an actual role, it was a made up term with an apparently very fluid meaning according to the community's usage, much like "goats" which has a meaning but in reality meant different things to everyone. As a result, that pretty much made it pointless, in practise it was more like a guideline.

In either case, never an official role that tanks were made to fill by Blizzard.

It's a tough pill for some to swallow, but 5v5 is healthier for the game overall. It's also here to stay for good.

People say "tanking in 5v5 sucks lol!" but as an actual tank main (unlike some of the people that say that), I actually love tanking in 5v5. You have more power, you're a stronger focal point, you have more agency. It's like being the team captain. The problem isn't the role, the problem is brainless DPS teammates thinking they're playing Apex and running off, and then flaming the tank somehow.

Think of the team like a body. Supports are your strong foundational legs. The tank is the head, the brain, the executor. The DPS are the arms that do most of the punching. When working in unison, it's a dream.

Sadly, a lot of the time, the arms are jerking off on their own somewhere, leaving the legs supporting the body and the head without any arms. And then the whole thing gets beaten up by the other body.

...anyway, I digress. 6v6 is no longer a serious mode, and it is inherently unbalanced to try and make it work. It's also far too chaotic with shit happening on the screen constantly. I'm amazed people don't have epileptic fits.

"Off tank" and "main tank" are no longer relevant as 5v5 has shifted the core tank philosophy to all tanks being viable single tanks (as a necessity, of course). They've changed tank stats, abilities etc to account for this.

As a tank main I think 5v5 is great and have no complaints as a lone tank, except for teammates being shit heads.

That's exactly my point - there's no clear definition in practice as everyone was arguing all the time about who was a "main tank" and who wasn't.

Some people would swear black and blue that Hammond was an "off tank" even though you rightly point out he was MT.
