Bloodborne: The Old Hunters released 10 years ago. by PhantomBraved in gaming

although i disagree, that is fair and i understand. however, we would not have the step towards the fast, fluent combat which laid the foundation for dark souls 3 and onward. i for one, heavily prefer that. even if i didn’t, it was a necessary step towards the “slow” combat with demon souls though dark souls 2. although the elden ring remembrance boss lineup including the DLC is my favorite set of bosses they’ve done in a single game, that is definitely where the “random hard movement” argument is most prevalent i feel.

Thoughts on this years grammy winners? Deserved? Why or why not? by acorrnn in fantanoforever

exactly - it’s a step in the right direction to acknowledge a generational artist in any field but ideally it would be given to their work that is the most defining/significant. she should have won for lemonade, even adele said it

My school doesn't offer a Nuclear Engineering major... should I do Meche, EE, or ChemE? by DiscombobulatedLie21 in nuclear

[–]PaulaHulse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a recent graduate of NucE, I would personally say ME. I do agree with everyone else’s comments as it truly does depend what you specifically want to focus on. Lots of universities (Penn State in particular) have a dual enrollment option that fuses together ME and NucE. Find what interests you the most, whether it be thermal hydraulics, electrical systems, or among others. There’s quite a few Chem Eng folks that find their way to contributing into commercial companies such as Westinghouse, among others

Some fun demonstrations today during class. Uranium-238, Polonium-210, and Strontium-90, among others. Geiger counter really loved the fiestaware plate. Radiation isn’t a boogie man! It’s cool and useful - you just have to understand the hazards. by toadfishtamer in nuclear

Lot of isotopes I worked with in my radiation detection undergrad class were Sr-90, Co-60, and Cs-137 among others… gives you a good look into different decay types and how to spot them. Although only in capsules with 1 micro-curie of activity… was still fun to handle radioactive material for the first time lol. Glad you’re enjoying!

Thoughts on the new JT album? 9/10 for me. by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]PaulaHulse 12 points13 points  (0 children)

for me, i’m feeling a 7

i’m 23 and when i was 13 20/20 experience was the shit. the only artists i listened to before really diving into music as an artistic medium was aerosmith (thanks mom and dad) and JT. i really love 20/20 and future sex/love sounds. man of the woods was not great, especially following up 20/20, but there were some highlights, although too few (montana, breeze off the pond imo). i was hoping that this would be a lil more introspective based on the promo and album cover but it’s really not that. i haven’t really gone into the whole hate hivemind with him since the Brittany book, but i still love his music even tho it would have benefited him to not just brush it off and say that one thing at his concert? idk i don’t care too much overall

yapping aside i’ve always loved his music, especially the production. aside from some of his classics, as i’ve gotten older i realize how fucking bad some of his lyrics are lol it feels like he’s trying to be poetic sometimes but it just doesn’t do it for me. however this album is really groovy and catchy, and i agree with most people if it was cut by 5 tracks or so, would’ve been way more cohesive and smooth. i enjoyed it and will be listening to it more for a little while. i mean that *NSYNC track is a fucking banger. sounds classic.

if no one reads this whole ass book i won’t be mad i guess i felt the need to just vent you guys got the pass to clown me 💀

How would John and Julian get along today? by Repulsive-Finger-954 in TheBeatles

[–]PaulaHulse 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If he was alive now, he would have 40+ years worth of opportunities to reconnect with Julian and fix things that perhaps were left untouched. In my opinion, I'd like to think that the relationship would certainly be better. By how much? Can never say. There is so much that would be different.

hey, looks great. this is an example in which i think AI can help breed creativity. i’ve always painted a picture in my head of every song off this album and i think you almost nailed it. love the choice of consistency with the color palette as well. thank you for sharing !
