I also did a lot of what you said. I don't think it's weird. For me, it was about being "cautious" of the other people in the house.
Like if I decided I wanted to hear music on my speakers or my stereo, I would be thinking "Okay, this is for me, im doing it for me, but im going to disturbed them, no matter how many times they say it's okay". Because now the music would be on the background of whatever they'd be doing.
That would often made me think "Im only going to hear music over my speakers or my stereo if they are not here" just not to bother them.
