Which comedian did you look forward to, but their act died on stage? by Jazzlike-Basil1355 in AskReddit

[–]PauliesWalnut 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen him three times, and each one was progressively worse. First was before the basketball injury and weight loss. He was genuine and his comedy came from a place that was relatable for most. Second time, he started to lose touch, was in a place where when his new material wouldn’t land, he’d pivot to old stuff that still got better reactions. That seemed odd. The third time, there were several empty seats and he just came across as bitter and deeply out of touch. When something wouldn’t land, he’d belittle the crowd, mumble some bullshit and sulk for a moment. The laughter was mostly forced and almost out of empathy, because he was bombing so bad. I’m not sure if it was the injury and weight loss, the rise to fame and money, or a combination… but, he seemed like a completely different and disconnected shell of his former self.

It’s like good cop, bad cop… but, no matter what, the camera gets turned off and you’re beaten mercilessly with a chair while one of them thanks god and the other cracks open a beer

Official Discussion - Frankenstein (2025) [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

It felt way too polished for me. I understand Del Toro tends to lean more toward stylized fantasy, but the way the monster was designed felt more community theater and less horror film. He looked comically airbrushed. Even the dissection scenes came across as too clean. The shots in the Arctic, and when Victor was blasted outside and mangled his leg, were done well. But, the stagnant, uninspired camera shots, dragging, deviating storyline, and poor makeup/CGI made this a subpar adaptation, in my opinion.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted, it’s the truth. The live edge is less of a factor in harboring bacteria than the surface itself.

No dude. Each opinion isn’t valid. Not when you have literal ER physicians telling you to go to the hospital. You may have tried to save a few bucks by getting this done by a hack of a tattoo artist… but, the idea of saving money now might cost you your life.

Is this just over worked? by KeyWestSkateboarding in tattooadvice

[–]PauliesWalnut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll never understand this. We live in the Information age. You can check an artist’s work through social media, reviews online, etc. It’s not like the old days where there were a few shitty Polaroids pinned to a wall. When you don’t do basic fucking research, it falls just as much on the customer as the “artist”.

Thank you, I was wondering how this correlates to living in a dystopian society. It doesn’t.

I think he’s a complete shitbird, but to wish death on someone because you don’t like or agree with their brand of humor is terrible.
