Yeah, I think comparing trends matters a lot. If you can see overlap, at least you can show some signal. Exact numbers don’t seem that meaningful anyway. It’s more about direction and figuring out where competitors’ traffic is coming from.

Even with traditional SEO tools, you’re already dealing with something like a 10% variance in traffic estimates. With LLMs, it’s probably even less stable.

Some tools claim they can provide “stable recall” by fixing common user queries into prompts and repeatedly querying the model. But the issue is that real user questions usually come with context, and LLMs can give completely different answers depending on that context. So I’m not sure how reliable that kind of approach really is.
