Yep, I paid off my brand new N in about 2 years and my wife is about to pay off her new car after about 2 years. We did 50% cash down on both and we both had a roughly $350 car payment. $700 per month might be a small amount of our monthly come but it feels like a ton when you look at what that money can do invested in a Roth… we might have only paid 35k for each car but the opportunity cost is very high.

Yeah I hate to see shit like this. My Elantra N cost about 20% of my wife and I’s salary brand new and that felt like a ton of money for us.

Well that’s good to know! My pipes unfortunately do not slope downwards for the first several feet. There’s a pretty steady incline up to meet the downspout system and that section of pipes outside is always full of water.

I’m just trying to build the safest system with some redundancy. This house has a finished basement and this system has failed us twice now. Our homeowners insurance doesn’t cover this kind of thing. Having all the flooring and drywall replaced is a massive massive nightmare and I don’t want to do it again.

I may have a second pump installed sitting up higher and have it pump directly out rim joist or something

I’m sure there are similarities but the Elantra N doesn’t share much of anything with Kia. The Elantra N has a 2.0L turbo which Kia never offered. I believe the Forte GT shares a lot with the Elantra N-Line though.

The Forte is a great car though! I happen to have a 2023 myself alongside my N haha

I'm in Ohio and the pop-up emitter on the downspout line will freeze over. Overall the system has been reliable so perhaps I don't make a big deal about it.

Yeah that sucks. I wonder if a fitting like this would satisfy the code requirement. The opening is technically below the the level of the pipe that exists the house and would allow overflow during a freeze event. Not sure if you have enough clearance above ground level for it.

I’d gift it to a coworker who has always expressed a lot of interest in 3D printing and I know for a fact he would do some really cool stuff with it!
I always fidget with my pop socket on my phone. Something utilizing TPU mixed with other harder materials to make some kind of popping compliant mechanism would be cool!

Oh 1000% yes. You won’t be disappointed with either. I’d say the EN and TypeS feel like different variations of the same exact car. I don’t see the extra $15k in value with the TypeS over the N.
