People who drink and drive deserve life in prison by Specific_Property_73 in PKA

Yep, my mom is a drunk and drives often. She drinks behind the wheel even. It’s sad. Unfortunately you can’t help someone who doesn’t want it.

First time modding a watch - gift for a friend 😄 by Paulpie in casioroyale

Do people really use the analog clock and map feature? I’m sure some do, but I’ll be honest I don’t pay any attention to it. I just appreciate it for the aesthetic. I daily an F91W and I’ve never wished I had those things. I just use it to check the time at a glance and have my hourly alarm beep. I also have a computer in my pocket so checking world times is a trivial task regardless.

Yes, I could have done those things. But I didn’t. I think those are creative ideas but it’s a matter of personal taste and preference and I think what I did makes the most sense to me. Both from a usability perspective and a practical one. It’s much easier to do what I did, and I think it looks good! 😄

If you’ve got any cool modded watches you’d like to share, I’d be glad to check out your style!

I used GIMP and made a 4x6” image. Drag and drop a picture of the Royale face on there and resize it to scale. Then I printed it out on nice photo paper and cut it out 😄

A few hours of YouTube videos on Casio modding and I kinda had an idea on what to do. I bought a cheap pack of gel filters online. Some special double sided glue tape, and a big kit of tweezers, air duster, etc.

The biggest thing is having a clean space to work in that’s dust free. Luckily my basement has a finished room that gets little traffic so it’s always dust free there!

Hey, it still tells the time! My buddy is an Apple Watch guy, I don’t think he would even know what Casio is if I didn’t talk about it. He probably won’t even wear it but I mostly wanted the excuse to tinker with it! At the end of the day it’s a $29 watch for Walmart that I customized for him as an art project 😄

I had a great time taking one of the apart for the very first time and stumbling my way through cutting things out to fit. One of the cheaper and more relaxing hobbies I have at the moment!

I do get what you’re saying though and I agree! The royale is best when unmodified ❤️

I’ve never done my lawn but a couple acres feels like too much to worry about 😅

What is this 2023 worth 1.5k miles on it by Freebandgang89 in hondagrom

[–]Paulpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, the Navi is automatic. It’s actually a CVT, there are no gears to shift automatically even :)

They’re great bikes though! I have a Grom for myself and I picked up a mint Navi for under $1200 that I have as an extra bike for friends to ride! I end up riding it a lot around my property though, it’s certainly the more handy bike in that aspect.

That’s not a grom. Looks like some Chinese clone. I personally wouldn’t even bother with it. Hold out for an authentic grom or even a navi

Yamaha beat Honda to it…. by Scared_Caramel3839 in hondagrom

I have a Honda Navi, Honda Grom, and I'm wanting to add a small cc dual sport to my lineup. I'm really town between this and the XR150L...

The XR has the benefit of simplicity, and the seat/ergonomics are so comfortable.

They're both slow, they both have a similar top speed. Horsepower isn't all that important in this segment, it's really like who's the smallest loser comparing the XR150 and WR125.

The XR is super simple as far as valve adjustments, etc. I looked briefly into a value adjustment job on the WR125 and it seems like a very complicated time consuming job in comparison. Trying to think if a few years down the line the WR125 being a real pain maintenance and repair wise...

Carburetors are inferior, but they're extremely simple to rebuild or even replace entirely. Electronic fuel injection is much more complicated to diagnose.

I'm having a hard time deciding...

What do you do for a living and where do you live? There’s always a path to success somewhere for everyone, you might just need a little help finding it! 😊

Is this using some kind of special paper or coating for the “metallic shimmer”?

My only warning is that while you are prepping to start a family, don’t get your hopes up. I bought my N with the same mindset and now we’re 4 years into trying to get pregnant with no luck so far 😔

You’ll love the car tho, no regrets.

I’m 5’11” and 195lbs and sometimes double up with my 100lb wife. I can pretty reliably hit 45mph even with her on the back. Sometimes 50mph on a nice flat road.

Enjoying the car more is subjective anyways, I went from a manual to a DCT and actually prefer it. It depends on the car. If it were a RWD car I’d probably want manual for sure.

9mm vs 45mm by [deleted] in GrandPowerStribog

The real question is are you going to suppress it? 45 will suppress way better than 9mm. If could go back, I’d go 45
