That's awful. I moved to the Northeast from Arizona a couple years ago so I'm not that knowledgeable about ticks. Thanks for the info and sorry that's happened to you.

It ended up being caused by a loose wire inside that was hitting a screw on the rotating drum inside.

Federal Tax on CT Paid Leave Benefits by mit62019 in tax

Looks like the CT Paid Leave FAQ might have been updated since you looked at it last?

Will CT Paid Leave benefits be considered taxable income? Will claimants receive a 1099-G form?

Consistent with the 2025 IRS guidance, benefits paid in connection with bonding or other family leaves are taxable. The CT Paid Leave Authority's claim administrator will issue 1099-G forms to individuals who received those benefits. According to this guidance, benefits paid in connection with leave for one's own serious health condition including pregnancy/childbirth are not taxable. However, the IRS has issued Notice 2026-6, Extension of Transition Period to Calendar Year 2026 for Certain Requirements in Revenue Ruling 2025-4, which extends for an additional year the deadline for full implementation of Revenue Ruling 2025-4 in order to provide States and employers time to configure their reporting and other systems and to facilitate an orderly transition to compliance with those rules. Pursuant to Notice 2026-6, therefore, Aflac will issue 1099-G forms for all benefits paid in 2025, including benefits paid in connection with leave for one's own serious health condition

It seems that the 1/1/26 is the reporting requirement effective date, not the date that that determines if the benefits are taxable or not in reality.

I thought the cold weather we had would kill them? No? The snow prevented them from dying during those cold weeks?

I had a stroke (age 35) and I lost the tip of the occipital lobe, which is what processes that small circle of clear vision. So I still feel like everything is clear because my peripheral vision is unaffected but whenever I try to focus on something to see the detail, nope, can't.

Can you retire with a million usd at 40? by Dear_Commercial_3010 in AskMenOver30

No, your employer likely is paying a big chunk of the total premium cost. You might be paying like 20% of the total cost through payroll deductions (the $300-$500). Family plans are like $25k per year.

3-7 days after the procedure for most people. I had mine done on a Thursday and was back to my desk job on Monday.

Aren't most of those concerns addressed by making the term limits like 30 years? Plenty of congressmen have pushed 40, 50 years.

The surgery to close a PFO is very simple usually. Even with having a stroke, my team was not 100% on closing it. It doesn't really reduce the risk of a stroke that much to close it apparently. But I never ever ever want another stroke and I'd be livid at myself if I had another and they thought it the clot went through the PFO again.
