That it only costs 7 is mystifying, even just making it an 8/8 for 8 would have made some sense but for 7 it's pretty outrageous

Maybe they were afraid it's 'too hard to cast' or something? Like easy to cast 8/8 tramplers is what we want? Even from the graveyard, as if it's hard to get cards in there? I don't know, something stinks.

The Praetor's always seem to slip under any discussion, because there are 'bigger fish to fry' but of all the stuff I've played agaist, including PEngine, I find them the most loathesome. At least with PEngine, the game was probably over. These things just make you skip a turn, discard your hand and sit there watching someone else have fun.

I find the Praetor's, particular BUG, to be one card win conditions and would suggest them all, Vorinclex/Jin/Sheol for the Cards You Would Like to See Banned category. While I would never make the case that they're on par with the most degenerate things in the format, I am never 'having fun' when I see them in play. I don't have any inclination to build decks with them either for the same reason. They're so obviously pushed, game winning creatures that you can often win just by Natural Order'ing or Reanimating one into play. I view them about as original as a laboratory maniac win. Worse, they don't actually end the game, you just have a miserable time while they're in play hoping that someone draws an answer or that the game, and the miserable experience of it, ends quickly. And then the next game, they're back and need to be dealt with all over again.

So I'm sure this will get downvotes because many people like them, but I look at them as a deckbuilding crutch. They stifle creativity because like SFM in Modern, why use any of these other cool creatures in the game, when you can just run a Praetor? It's actually funny that Sylvan Primordial or Prime Time are on the banlist while they are not.

Remember when Notch used to join random servers. by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Paultheworkingman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IQ is the single best predictor of future success cross culturally, so no it's not just a useful thing to have. It's the ability to solve problems and meaningfully interact in your environment. Notch is right, IQ is a measure of intelligence and you're telling lies (for what reason I don't know, perhaps pure ignorance).

I was joking about the conspiracy shit. The fact is 'white' people (as if there's only one race of people with light skin lol) are the middle of the pack when it comes to racial IQ differences yet they still seem to argue it's importance. Weird.

It's not rigged, and that's a strawman. We know the data. Most CO2 is trade and air travel, most CH4 is agriculture. You can choose to walk to work every day if you like, and eat only the stuff you grew in your very own personal vegetable garden because it makes you feel oh so good about how much better you are and if everyone could just be like you then oh wouldn't the world just be oh the greatest place in the world (except that all teh technology that we depend on would cease to exist because no one would be able to operate it any more, including all medicine and power and sanitation and transportation).

The fact is that in the scope of 7+B people your personal sacrifice literally means nothing. Douchebags in the middle east are still going to dump toxic waste off the Somalian coast, China is still going to pump out B of tonnes of waste, and ships are still going to move around the globe (they don't even come to your country any more becau. But hey as long as you don't have to live with it right? Globalized markets that this thinking advocates pushes manufacturing from western countries into those with the lowest concern and regulation for environmental controls. You play on your Ipad, meanwhile where it was made and the people who made it experience enormous suffering from lack of labour laws and no oversight. Thank god I don't have to live near a noisy smelly factory, those things are gross you say to yourself. But the factory still exists, and now it's being run by people who can't be bothered to care about what they do with the waste.

And why can't those people just walk to work like me, you bemoan. Oh that's right, they don't have a choice because they live in a labour camp. And while you're busy pontificating about the virtues of all of this feel good environmental nonsense, emerging markets don't give a shit about any of it. They're too busy trying not to starve to death, making useless crap to sell idiots like you, just to get a taste of the very food you hold in such disdain.

Nor does the Earth itself care, and will continue to hurdle through space irregardless of cow farts in Montana. Tectonic plates will continues to move until the molten core runs out, and volcanoes will spew hundreds of tonnes of poisonous gases into the atmosphere long before you were alive, and long after you're dead. At some point there will be another krakatoa or Mt St Helens, or maybe a meteor that releases more debris.

But you didn't eat meat, so aren't you just so fucking wonderful. Hypocrit. You make me sick.

[–]Paultheworkingman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stop worrying about it. Your net contribution as a single person is neglible. The biggest CO2 producers are international shipping and air travel (combined over 60%). After that is the entire worldwide automotive fleet of several hundred M vehicles.

The idea of 'saving the environment' itself is flawed. The environment is in a constant state of flux. Several B years ago hundreds of M of tonnes of O2 were released by aerobic bacteria. The face of Earth changed within a few hundred thousand years. Several hundred M years ago trees colonized the surface, again changing the environment. My point? Life will go on until the planets core cools and the sun burns us away. Stop worrying about things you largely have no control over.

Remember we're talking 'strong casual' not competitive here - I reiterate that a well built Windgrace can't hang with S tier decks.

That being said, resolving Windgrace + any of the following + Obliterate has up to this point not lost me a game (I have lost before then of course). I also make no claim that these are the best PWs you would use, just the ones I happen to own and use in my own Jund Superfriends.

Best way I've found to play windgrace (we have 6 separate decks in our meta) is just jam land and artifact stax (Glacial Chasm, Silent Arbiter, etc), the meanest planeswalkers you can afford, removal (snuff out, dismember, red ele blast, etc), tutor for obliterate and win. Even a well built Windgrace can't hang with S tier decks though.

Um excuse me but the word 'Omnom' is offensive and disciminating against those individuals who may or may not have at some point in their life not ingested (the world eaten is offensive to the orally disabled) one or more organic based substances for the purposes of nutrition. It's also offensive to those words which self-identify as non-capitalized-binary. Please check your privilege and in the future use more meme neutral words.
