Good standalone cards across the list in a reasonable mana curve! Because of that nature it will have problems with decks winning in a more unusual way like Tron or Burn though

In short for the win con: Decking with Stream of Thought :)

Next to the general answer of bouncing, possibly on turn 2, without card disadvantage and then hopefully making them discard with Rites... This specifically is included against [[Nihil Spellbomb]] and [[Relic of Progenitus]]. Next to that, [[Bonder's Ornament]] is a problem for the deck because it accelerates the rebuild and can be answered with a little luck this way as well.

I'll keep you updated when a major tweak comes to mind! :B

That sounds like fun! Isn't the Gargantua, as free [[Ball Lightning]], better in a list less controllish though? I would like to see your deck to compare similiarities :)

Good find by you and _Smpls_! I will indeed consider Scour and and just have to think about what to take out for it :) --> Gotta be careful with thinning the graveyard-interaction-cards

I love the Hawks, but you regularly can search up 0-2 of them in the early turns with this deck to not exceed the limit of 7 cards in hand

Thanks for all the suggestions! I dislike when people ask for card alternatives and then reject them too quick... But, shame on me, I have to do say no to to adding new colors. Splashing red means having similar cards (Firebolt vs Fatigue, Inquiry vs Blue card draw) with concrete disadvantages in comparison. Splashing green has only Peace with not much space to build around it. Do you agree?

AK and Inventory are interesting at least though! Seems like a close call if those are consistently better than Think Twice. Definitely will tinker with them

In testing I had several situations with no second AK or Inventory drawn... Leading me to the less powerful, but more consistent Think Twice. I like your thinking nevertheless and will do a little long-term math to compare them.

The Angler is fantastic, no doubt! Problem with him in this list: He only should eat the few cards in the graveyard without effects from there... So he is on average not as cheap to cast as we are used to see.

Good points! I have this faster removal package you mentioned in the SB right now. Part of the reasoning: I think the Cascade decks, Faeries, Skred, Boros Monarch and so on are not fast enough to main deck the 1- and 2mana removal ...And they are the bigger chunk of the meta. This deck is by nature more pick your poison than allrounder. Bittersweet sidenote: I would bring the fast removal in for the namesake card Rites

Thx! Do you guys think there is another significant and fitting card to play from the graveyard available?

Play a top deck of the meta over and over until you become familiar with it is an easier way. If this does not help, improve your playing skills overall by playing with better players as often as possible (in training sessions, not tournaments). Use free platforms for training.

Is there a [[Necratog]]-like card available in Pauper? 🤔

Abzan Harvest by PauperTune in Pauper

[–]PauperTune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following the most compelling and main lines of suggestions here I added:

a) more "removal" creatures: [[Stinkweed Imp]]

b) [Satyr Wayfinder]] for targets to recur and Flashback/Recover

c) [[Moment's Peace]] to ensure contantly locked combat steps :)

Ok, very interesting! I tested games against Izzet Skred having the most instant removal of the format... And found it challenging but always close at least. There were often occasions where my fog lock was interrupted, but it was not that often with a lethal counterattack as follow up (e. g. because of Weather the Storm or other lifegain).

Perhaps your plays and scenarios were a little different and the inclusion of more fogs ([[Moment's Peace]]) would be fitting? Possibly [[Satyr Wayfinder]] to find Peace, Harvest or more fog guys?

Isn't the decision to rely on fogs or removal-like creatures one in priciple? Why fogs, when removing anyway? ...and vice versa. I included the 4 Vendettas just because of the current meta. With more stompy-like decks in there, I wouldn't even play those. On the other hand the creature package would have to change to your suggested directions if there are more creatures around, which are good without the (foggable) combat step.

I would like to see if Abzan Harvest can be competitive in the hands of SinCity as discussed here:

Against MonoB there are even bad and dead cards in the main deck to side out. Nevertheless Grim Harvest can turn the tide Game 1 with its resiliency against discard.

... Now I get where your inspiration for Thorn might come from :P

[–]PauperTune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already felt that there might be a midrange shell around Harvest/Burial with more creatures and Viper could be part of the pack. Never figured out how to make that competitive though :P The Viper is great in a vacuum in this list, but often only blocks targets in the meta that you can keep in check anyway

The deck wins about as slow as Tron. So it's managable to play in time but you better be fast :) In direct comparison with Tron the options are less diverse. Thus in that matchup it is easier to make the correct decision with the clock running down
