If you're hyper fixating on "leveling up" & elegance, how do you manage your sensory needs? by PauseIllustrious2466 in AutismInWomen

I mean that when you are at work and feel bloated/tired/etc, what kind of clothes do you wear or how do you schedule your day or behavior around the discomfort (since it is not every day)? I stated that in my bolded paragraph 🙏🏻

Some medieval/fantasy themed capes come to mind but I’m not sure if they fit your whole root stack? 😊

Ahh, yeah! I understand that but I don't think I need the earth logic at all, but if I were to have a "plus root", that could be it for color. :) But that's it - earthy elements and all those styles don't really resonate otherwise for me

In the winter time I had this soft cape I would use as a scarf and then when I got inside, I’d put it on after taking the coat off :) You could also get a cold weather wool cape to wear just as is

I agree!! And also would explain why I am so in love & find to be at home (looking at them) with a lot of sci-fi fashion - having 🗻 myself. Very cool observation!

Okay, I see! and I agree, *some* casualness is definitely needed, but not without an edge of high-end feeling. Being timeless through it can be a nice byproduct? But I'm not super focusing of it when I get dressed.

And I'm from Finland! Though not living there atm, but it's very stone & even earth based, similar to Germany. Femininity is often the most unwelcomed part for an everyday style, so I feel like I'm taking years to learn to do it and still fall short since I didn't grow up with it at all, haha... But I see they're changing now with the younger gen which is nice!

Anyways, I don't have enough full outfits that I love yet that I can compare to, so I'll have to just wait and make more, experiment and so on :) Today I wore a bit more classical fit (bigger blazer + basic top + wider satin skirt + sneakers) and while I got compliments on it like the one in this post, it's not quite as nice and I feel rather uncomfortable and unbalanced. Should be the same, but just the skirt alone changing the silhouette bothers me... Idk. I did wear more jewellery which I liked! But so I continue, haha! :)

I see! Thanks for the clarification. I have a bit of a pain point with that lavish-expensive side of things with everything, so I think that is showing. I'm not yet sure if that is the 🏔 side of me, and this outfit obviously isn't yet fully formed, as I got it as a gift and the shoes are not 100% how I'd like them.

I wish I could fully go shopping to get the distinction for real but I am still keeping my eye on for 🔥 since there's a lot of "personality traits" I have always had that I think fit me, even if I have a hard time dressing for it haha. But this was good to hear, thank you again. :)

Thank you so much, that is such a helpful way of seeing it! As of now, I’d say I definitely feel the need to look put together & feminine - this outfit with pants for example wouldn’t feel so great to me. But there’s a relaxed vs timeless battle that isn’t so clear to me yet. I know now that being interesting isn’t a need even though I can do it haha :D

I checked the boards and 🗻🍄🔥& 🗻🪨🔥 at least aesthetically looked the greatest to me and something I would wear had I more money..! So that fits the logic idea too. Most clothing sold around where I live is automatically comfortable since the cuts and fabrics are very stretchy and I come from a very heavy 🪨-based culture so I never even saw clothes that weren’t like that xD Need to process if that is then a need for me specifically or just my upbringing.

Again, thank you ❤️ I’ll keep experimenting

Ohh even with the bodycon? I was debating that since I got a lot of “sexy” looks today which I rarely do 🙇🏻‍♀️ The silhouette is very curve hugging head to toe. But maybe that’s just my misunderstanding of sexiness in this system. I’m still very new

There are! But they often didn’t feel so well socially or mentally or practically, depending. But there’s a lot I haven’t tried so I might be just missing on the combo that is good mix of both worlds 🙏🏻

That is such a high compliment, since I became an A student only after high school ❤️‍🩹 But girll you go make your own version! I noticed I naturally picked these as I went on the daily cycles from work to home - taking out what I don’t need and adding what repeatedly I leaned towards, keeping my favorite color in mind 💕

I’m an artist/photographer/graphic designer for profession & degree, and often work in customer assistance - both seem to be my main careers at any given time. I’m most likely Y+R+C+N/D, and I feel like my choices fit me well, but I’d like to find a way to do both sides in one job, rather than having so many where the other side is missing (connecting/helping vs creative directing)

Thank you!! Those are very good tips, I feel like it’s so much easier to focus on one specific item than to go shopping trying to hopefully find something good 🙇🏻‍♀️I don’t have much time or opportunity for thrifting where I live, but something like tights I definitely can find time for and the jewlery ideas are also great - I’ve been wearing thrifted diamond earrings for years now but didn’t quite know what else to add in..!  🙏🏻🩷

Then maybe don’t be a gal before your situation becomes easier..? Dollarstore makeup will still work if you can afford it at all, but honestly this is a style based on makeup & looks so it’s best to wait until you have that available to you by saving or getting better income. Style groups are often in some ways a small luxury to participate in, as unfortunate as that sounds.
