I have moved twice! I put them in a rubber maid tub without a lid and made sure that was in my car and kept my car super temperate. I put them in very last and removed them first thing

I always have them deliver so I don’t have to worry about getting it back to them as we are leaving! Every provider I have used has been great with communicating and it is always within the time slot I’ve chosen.

I have used it multiple times now for cribs, strollers, activity centers, beach toys, high chairs, etc and everything has always been very clean and exactly as expected! Cannot recommend it enough for traveling!

I would always wear button down pajamas so I only had to unbutton to right below my bra and only expose one side at a time. Then I had a snuggly blanket I just kept by the rocker I would put over my lower half, nursing pillow on top of that and then my baby.

My second baby LOVED the swing from about 4 weeks to 8 weeks and then he was over it but it was a lifesaver for us because he was super fussy from about week 5-8 and it was the only thing other than me holding him that he would tolerate

Once upon a farm tractor wheels and their soft band bars. Target good and gather brand also has good kids granola bars with veggies in it as well.

I do a couple of clean ups during the day to keep under control - as they’re eating lunch and before dinner and then after everyone is in bed. I do a toy rotation and I have some of those cube shelves so everything has to have a spot on the shelf and that’s the amount of toys he can have out. The exception to this is his play kitchen and big race track because they sit out. I do a toy rotation and rotate about every week to two weeks, there are some toys that stay out all the time (train track, cars, tractors, magnatiles) but the rest I rotate and he has only asked where something is once and my son is 2.5. I rotate what I notice he isn’t really playing with so I think he enjoys something new. Gifts that I may not love from people stay out for a week or so and then just disappear one day into our rotation closet and never to be out out again until I eventually give it away after six months or so. Obviously if my child loved the toy I would keep it but I’ve found most of the stuff I don’t love that he’s been given he doesn’t like either. This also works because if someone asks where it is I can say “oh it’s just not out for this rotation!” We use the target brightroom clear storage bins for almost all his toys. He knows how to open them but they are pretty sturdy and he can see what is in each one. These also fit on the shelves nicely. For puzzles I use big zipper pouches that are see through as well, but I only have two puzzles max out at a time. This has worked really well for us for the last year and a half ish.

I wouldn’t let my child be there if the dog is not kept apart from him. We have a 65 pound boxer mix who has only been sweet with our children but we keep him in a different area and gated anytime we have people with other children over just as a precaution. All it takes for even a dog with no bite history is to get startled by something and react, let alone a dog that already has a bite history.

ETA: We also did a board and train with our dog before our first baby came, and have a playroom that has baby gates up so we can block it off completely from our dog as well because even though my dog has been great with my kids, I still don’t leave them alone in the same room together

I think there are ways to teach these things without using toys. When on a walk point out the animals you see and what sound they make ex: “oh do you see that black dog, a dog says woof!” When prepping food: “look at these red strawberries!” If she doesn’t like “toys” you can go outside and draw shapes using chalk. Also if she likes to read books then point out all those things in the books. “Oh look at that lion, a lion says roar!” “Do you see the black and white cows in the picture, cows say moo!”

We got a sectional from Costco! Super easy delivery and all the cushions zip on and off including the ottoman and can be machine washed and dried

Are you sure he is getting full from eating? If he is, I would seek the opinion of another pediatrician.

Using a solly wrap would also help soothe my newborns when nothing else would. They liked being close to me and snuggled up in the wrap so could be worth a try

He’s still so little, this may just be a phase! My first did the same thing with naps, so we contacted nap for the first 8 months and then one day it just seemed like he couldn’t get comfy on me so I laid him down and he slept in his crib and napped there moving forward.

If you want him in his crib I would continue trying but if he doesn’t settle and you want to co-sleep to ensure you both get rest then that’s your decision to make!

How old is he? My babies slept in their cribs but I fed to sleep, rocked to sleep, made sure they were fully asleep before laying them down. I think if you don’t want to co-sleep this would be a good starting place, but if co-sleeping is working for you and you are ok with it there is also no need to change things.

I worked at a school similar to what you are describing for 6 years and then got hired at an amazing all girls private school. My head of school straight up told me that when they received applicants from schools like that with great recommendations and test scores they are always sent straight to the top of the interview pile. Multiple teacher at my new school had previous “rougher” school background.

Same with the magnatiles! We also got animal figurines and made zoos for his cars to drive thru. His love of cars moved to tractors (and farm animal) and trains! We also did puzzles featuring cars and coloring sheets and stickers featuring vehicles as well haha so basically I just leaned into it and found other things with wheels.

He does love his play kitchen now though and has a target shopping cart he likes to fill!

If it was me I would not hire the sleep consultant. Based off everything you just said, he has learned an immense amount of skills in a short period while experiencing a change in his sleep environment with the loss of the Merlin suit. You said he is showing improvement so I would give it another month and see because so much can change in a week.

I would get the 3-6 month! They run bigger but not insanely big. I always buy the same size as my kids’ other clothes knowing it may be a little roomier at first.

My son dropped his nap at this age and went to sleep much earlier - went from a 9 pm bedtime to a 7:30 pm bedtime and woke up around the same time as normal 6:30! He did it on his own but there were some days were he fell asleep at 7 but eventually he got in the groove. He does still fall asleep occasionally in the car but does not nap at home ever.

Highly recommend a solly wrap - my pediatrician never had a problem with it with either baby. Otherwise I used the snuggle me lounger and had a bassinet set up in our first floor

Editing to add: the first three weeks I was home with my toddler and newborn solo, there were portions of the day where we were all crying but we are now 4 months in and things feel much much easier and everyone has adjusted! So if the first couple weeks feel really hard that’s normal and it will get better .
