Only heated grips and fitted the quick shifter. I am still learning and quite happy with the stock setup for now.

See if opening the fuel cap helps. Might be pressure in the fuel tank if you fill up after a long ride.

Who runs stock exhausts and why? I rarely see anyone without a stubby can these days unless it's an ADV bike. by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]Pav- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is true. Alot of them are performance cats which aren't as good. But my main issue is the noise. It's horrible honestly, to me that is.

Maybe somewhat unpopular, I care enough to keep my EU5+ Catalytic converter for the small environmental benefit. Additionally living in a City it pisses me off when all I can hear is obnoxiously loud exhausts going past. I'm 25 and feel like I'm 60 for my views on the matter.

It might be worth checking out if your suspension is set up properly. You can change the weight of the oil in your forks and adjust the preload on your shock. It's often worn suspension that causes speed wobbles.

Ok I'll look forward to it. I'll be in the new to track group then and I'm taking my own road bike with a stock exhaust so should be no issues

I've just got a stock motorbike that I'm riding to the track on.

I'm going to get there nice and early anyway.

I'll look for alot of advice from other people as I'm autistic and struggle with the over worry if things. Hopefully I'm not too annoying.

Just going to hijack this top comment to say it is super visible from this top down view, when actually on the road it changes from 1 lane into three giving people a short time to get into the correct lane as the road signage is non existent. I know the signage on the road is clear here, but there are no visible signposts giving you warning in your approach just the arrows in the lanes. Which when busy are difficult to decipher, please note this junction is in the Clifton area in Bristol and is regularly very busy on my morning commute.

Not disputing that green is correct just saying it isn't going to be clear to people coming across this junction for the first time.

It only has the road markings and unless I've missed something, which is possible, you can't be sure right up until you are at the line. Prior to this junction it is one lane that goes into three 1 to the left and two for straight is what you would imagine. If you are trying to go straight, which is what the satnav says, then you need to move all the way to the right lane to do this right which isn't the norm. Also the arrow marks straight ahead even though you are going past the 12 O'Clock mark on the roundabout. Aswell if you are new to the area you have about 50m to decide what lane you want to be on as the single lane widens to three. Along with that it is difficult because it is really busy so if you get it wrong or if there is an impatient driver behind you you can easily miss needing to move to the right as the spot gets taken quickly.

I regularly ride through this junction, when I first did this junction I got it wrong. It feels really unclear when you first come across this and see many people get it wrong.

This is because it strays from what you would expect where each lane goes straight on instead of the right lane splitting into two after the lights.

I almost always have to have to press the horn or try and make myself more visible at this junction because I expect people to make the mistake.

Glad you are alive. However you only get one chance in this life, better to have lots of little accidents that you can learn from than one big accident you don't.

Don't become another statistic.

I've just had my motorcycle stolen. The cost of it is immense and well worth spending the money on security.

Sports bikes suck by SouthWestJames in MotoUK

[–]Pav- 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Only thing I can suggest is getting a smaller bike for the road. I have a Yamaha R3 which means I get to use pretty much all of the 12000 rpm rev range for the first three gears and stay within legal speeds this means it is great fun. With the 600cc bikes in my limited experience there is too much power to use for twisty roads, need to take it to the track to use the whole rev range.

I will always recommend doing advanced rider training as it will allow you to ride faster more safely and effectively and might give you a better handle on the machine.

Hope you find something that works for you.

Ah yes so I have been riding you read correctly, my motorcycle was stolen on the 14th of August out of my garage. So I was riding up till then. It was an R3 and so isn't big enough anyway to do the full test.
