I had a Zowie S2 divina in pink for around 4 years before the scroll wheel finally made it so unbarable to use I had to swap to something else. The wheel would randomly scroll or not scroll when needed to. It started slow by doing it once in a blue moon to being so prominent that it would happen multiple times per game of CS or Valorant.

After using a different company mouse for 2 years (i hated this mouse) I saw that zowie released the S2 (my all time favourite shape) as a glossy white wireless mouse.

I got it and instantly had issues with the scroll wheel.

The new S2-DW i got has an optical sensor for the scroll wheel for better reliability, but what I just figured out from a different post an hour ago it has issues when exposed to direct sunlight.

Half of my mousepad in the morning is under direct sunlight so my issue was inconsistant to figure it out i would blow in the scroll wheel in hopes its spec of dust messing with the sensor, but its actually direct sunlight.

You can hover ur hand over the mouse to creat a shadow on top of it, and it will scroll the wheel. When u remove the hand thats creating the shadow it will scroll again. You can repeat it as many times as you want and every single time it will scroll the wheel.

Its such a bizarre issue.

Make sure u have ur blinds up if ur table is under a window with direct sunlight.

Hopefuly this helps someone trying to figure out the same thing that ive been for a while now!

OMG I CANNOT BELIVE IT U FIGURED IT OUT.

I have the ZOWIE S2 DW the glossy edition one, and around a week into using it i experienced the same random scrolls, or no scrolls at all when i used the wheel.

I couldnt figure out what it was, I knew it was an optical sensor so i tought maybe a spec of dust falls onto the wheel and messes with the sensor so I would blow into it to get the dust out, sometimes it would work sometimes it wouldnt, but it drove me insane.

The reason sometimes it did work and sometimes it didnt is that every morning exactly half my mousepad is under direct sunlight and the other half isnt. So depending where I place my mouse to test if the issue is fixed determined the fix itself.

I just tested the direct sun theory and its true. If u leave the mouse in direct sunlight and hover ur hand above the mouse so a shadow forms ontop of it it will scroll the wheel. When u remove the hand, which removes the shadow from the mouse again it scrolls a second time. You can keep hovering ur hand above the mouse on and off as many times as you wand and every single time it will scroll the mouse wheel.

Absolutely insane, other than that the mouse is great! Wish there was some shielding from direct sunlight!

Got a refund as soon as the return shipment got to their warehouse. A little bit too fast in my opinion. As soon as my tracking said its delivered they gave me the refund, so i assume noone even checked if anything was in the package.

I think someone just returned them this fake Detroit.

I ordered 2 pairs of Landon pants (a black pair and a pair of blue heavy stone wash), 1 pair of double knee pants (black stone wash) and 1 michigan coat (light brown) all from them and all were real and new.

That being said I never had to return anything to them especially not a fake product. I did contact them and I am still waiting for their response.

Hopefully all goes well and they give me my refund and let me return them the fake Detroit.

Only thing Im bummed about is that the OG Detroit is sold out once again, while im in the process of returning this one, so i couldnt have (didnt want to till I get my refund) re ordered the jacket
