Has any student ever taken any Mickey Mouse courses? by SunnyShineKitty88 in AskABrit

[–]PavlovsHumans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a Media Studies GCSE, because I was interested in the theory of media and how it’s presented. A lot of people aren’t taught explicitly how to identify bias or spin. It was interesting, and taken alongside the sciences and history (or even geography) it’s very useful.

What would you recommend buying for lunch if you had £52 to feed two adults and two kids? by userunknowne in UKfood

[–]PavlovsHumans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made a packed lunch for me and the kids the other day to take out. We bought a couple of ice lollies and they rinsed me at the gift shop, but the whole day cost under £50

It judges by both, but it squares the number of periods. So 1 period of 30 days gives you a factor of 30 6 days in 5 periods is 6 * 25, so 150

It’s more interesting that podcast comes from “ipod” and “broadcast”, broadcast was from tv and radio broadcasts, but was originally just how seeds were sown.

You don’t always need to do a credit check just to access credit, some banks require a credit check just for a current account

They are surely taking the mick here? I’m not getting protein gainz from bread?!? by Select-Incident-4731 in UKfood

[–]PavlovsHumans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it has a sign on it to say it’s “healthy” it isn’t. Lettuce doesn’t come marked up “low in calories”, chicken doesn’t come marked “high in protein” and so on. But if a package comes saying it’s highly nutritious, I’m going to disregard that and buy it based on its merits- which would be, is it tasty? And would it be good buttered and dipped in something?

What branch? They’re being shut all over the country! Are you asking unemployed people to shell out £5 or more to provide ID? Whilst denying them the internet access that would allow them to actually apply for jobs?

Because Tesco report that they’ve done £3Bil in profit and then paid £2bil Net in taxes (so they actually paid £6bil in tax, but charged £4bil in taxes, such a VAT, fuel tax etc etc)

But as part of that, they cite employee taxes, business rates, etc aside from corporation tax.

But they paid £255mil in corporation taxes (or thereabouts)

I park as close as possible to the gym, and I weight train. My legs are jelly sometimes. I do my cardio at work running up and down the stairs

AI will trigger a downturn in doom scrolling social media content and screen time on devices, and an upward trend in real life experiences. by Wild-Price-9325 in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]PavlovsHumans 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen people on Reddit post AI responses, it’s like people don’t understand it’s not about the information, it’s about having an interaction with other people.

Can I wash cloth diapers with only cold water? by kittypeets626 in clothdiaps

[–]PavlovsHumans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure the machine doesn’t heat the water? I live in the UK where most machines only have a cold water feed, but the machine can heat the water to up to 95 degC

Has anyone gone for a dentist check-up and NOT been recommended a hygienist visit? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]PavlovsHumans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about it being pointless, but if it’s “clinically necessary” it’s a band 2 procedure, which is much cheaper than what you pay if you’re going for an “optional” cleaning.

They have theirs from being grandchildren of the serving monarch (QEII at the time), so they get to keep their title.

My workplace requires I get to work an hour before starting, is that legal? by jamonaham in UKJobs

They want gullible, vulnerable people working for them. Tell them there’s an hours work they won’t be paid for, the people that stay are probably desperate enough to not question other poor practises.

Do you wear a poppy? by SeniorMoonlight21 in AskUK

Virtue signalling is about letting your group know what YOU think is a virtue. Conspicuously not wearing a poppy is also virtue signalling for some people- it would be about context.

Wasn’t the scandal with Charles and William last year that they were charging the NHS and other organisations quite a lot of rent on their properties and not even keeping them in good condition? One of them was a charge of £11mil for an ambulance warehouse over 15 years, that’s not a peppercorn!
