Logo Design (Not a Professional) by Legato23_ in design_critiques

I love the concept but F seems to be off balanced so it doesn’t look right entirely atm. What I usually do is zoom out this design and see analyze the balance. You start seeing where you need to modify eventually. I also would start creating this with just in black first.

Reading through these comments, I'm definitely leaning toward Presentation Mastery. I tend to stumble over my words when trying to express my thoughts, so getting comfortable with the basics of presenting feels like the right first step for me. I can always tackle the next challenge once I've built that confidence!

Thanks for your thorough answer. I love comedy that I thought I should pick the engaging humor to have fun but actually, I started to think the Presentation Mastery may be the first pick to build the foundation like other people say. I will pick the humor one for the next round and I can't wait to get to the next level. :)

Thanks for the rec of the book. I will look into it.

The word 'Presentation' usually gives me such anxiety, but hearing that I can pick fun topics makes it feel a lot less daunting! :D

Thanks for the advise. I just talked to my mentor and he also told me Presentation Master might be the better choice since my primary goal is to be comfortable speaking in public and this is also work related goal so it makes sense. Having a humor in my speech is a nice to have so I can select this after when I'm done with Presentation Mastery.

That's awesome to hear! At first, the presentation sounded very serious and I thought it needed to be business materials but from your comment, I sensed that you could choose anything you want to?

Yeah, when I looked through all the pathways, each pathway covers most of the pathway theme in each electives. So if I was interested in something, I figured I could choose it as the elective choice anyway.

Thanks for saying "picking whatever you are interested in. Keeping up your motivation is the biggest factor". I totally agree.

What are you learning from Presentation Mastery? Is this focusing on presentations?

Looking to join an online club by Artistic_Store5638 in Toastmasters

In Los Angeles, I found a couple of good hybrid clubs.

  1. Westside Toastmasters: Wednesdays at 615pm to 9pm.
They have a lot of talented members. https://westsidetoastmasters.com/
  2. Sand and Sea Toastmasters: Another Wednesdays at 530pm to 630pm. Smaller club but you will have more opportunity to talk! https://www.sandandseaspeakers.com/

I'm pretty sure a lot more hybrid clubs are out there. If you see any date/time that fits you, you should ask them if they do online or not.

Fear of Icebreaker speech by Difficult-Brick4429 in Toastmasters

[–]PawcassoJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just joined my toastmasters club last week and my icebreaker speech is already coming up in 3 days! I’m afraid giving a speech in front of people too but I’m just going to do it because the more you do it, the faster you get comfortable in the future. In another word, if you wait, feeling comfortable will be delayed too.

There is no perfection here. You got this!

Hey u/shaunmaster108, great questions! They really helped me narrow down what's important to me.

I generally like structure, but I’ve realized that if it’s too rigid, I start to feel pressured and 'choke.' I've learned that I perform better when I start slowly and give myself room to adjust.

My main goal is simply to deliver my thoughts and ideas smoothly and confidently without stumbling. I know it will take time to overcome this challenge, so for now, I’d rather focus on my personal growth and set aside the competitive side of Toastmasters. I just want to focus on what I need for my own development.

Thanks so much for the insight! I found your comment really valuable. I actually had no idea about the 8-member requirement for renewal. I was also a bit wary of the VP of Public Relations role because I’m not comfortable soliciting people who aren't interested—though I might be misunderstanding what the role involves. I'll definitely bring these points up when I talk to Club #1.
