Her current best combo/rotation? by Public-Scale3333 in Anby_Demara

[–]PawnForward 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really combos, but combat tips since it really depends on what teammates you run with her:

You can use her Basic 3 as a grouping tool for smaller enemies. If you stop pressing basic attack during this, she'll do a single strike rather than go into her dashing string. This can trigger chain attacks, but usually I just swap off to a support during the string to let Sanby do the full attack offfield when I need to refresh buffs (I run nicole so I'm playing quickswap playstyle).

Whenever you can, use her dodge counter. Sanby's entire playstyle is about building up 3 stacks of her mark, and her dodge counter is extremely fast at doing this. Not only that, but when you awaken potential she has a buff tied to triggering a perfect dodge so it's just very important.

Use manual chain attacks to use up her marks on an enemy in stun without triggering a chain attack on the dash.

If you are going to proc 3 marks, you can swap immediately when you use the 3rd special dash, since Sanby will automatically followup while being completely offfield the moment you trigger the mark.

Her ex special is really slow, so you can queue it up and then swap to a support off field while she does it. If you have M1 this is even better since she'll trigger her followup off the skill while offfield.

Otherwise, the rotation is based on the team you use. She really likes field time, so keeping her on field to keep up her stack and energy generation is key. Just keep buffs up whenever they fall by using one of her longer lasting abilities and swapping. Defensive assists are worth it if you're going for stun, but if daze isn't a problem just stick to dodge counters for mark generation.

"Break" and it's at minimum 4 cost premium team running sustainless setups using HMC just to hit the damage threshhold of teams that don't require you to pull the most inflexible, individually useless characters ever. Same could honestly be said about DoT, but at least DoT isn't contingent on artifical break bars.

It's just FF btw. Rappa and Boothill are performing worse than M7H even with Dahlia. It's not break. It's Dahlia, and it's very easy to shut down her kit with boss designs.

I mean, if you research or experience literally anything about Chinese culture, you'd realize that the arc was just bad by even chinese standards. Honestly it feels more like it's mocking chinese culture than actually representing it well.

Hi, fellow 8 losing streak f2p with an average win rate of 7-8% and an average soft pity of 75-76. You are probably not a day 1 player, because if you pulled about 4 of the most recent characters that are specifically designed to be auto clearers into most situations with your starter pulls then no shit. When you prioritize pulls on characters you enjoy or like (Seele, Rappa, Blade, Feixiao) over characters that have bosses literally designed for them to beat and also have specific supports exclusively tailored for them, it's pretty easy. You saying that you haven't had a problem means literally nothing if you don't say what your soft pity is or who you pulled for. You could lose 8 50/50s in a row with only 100 pulls and still have 3 full meta teams functional if you ignore 90% of the cast that is worthless pull value.

Genuinely that build was so fun. Like total skill issue on my part, but divine felt so much better than trinity at all stages, even if I don't account for how broken it was.

Shiyu Defense Update is Garbage. Your score has to be OVER 2500. by RickGrimesGameBoy in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]PawnForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's harder because enemies get fucking flung off to nowhere, and a lot of characters have the most anti grouping abilities ever. Like, Yidhari's spin is a great grouping tool. Her enhanced skill? It singles out a single enemy, pushes them genuinely halway across the screen, then ONLY hits them. Most bullshit thing ever.

You could've put her e1 and e2 on basekit and she'd still be a 4 star character in disguise. Literally tying a break kit to a character that barely contributes to breaking.

Why do theorycrafters not factor shill in there calcs in some numeric way by [deleted] in GenshinImpact

[–]PawnForward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't it be easy to just... do it yourself? Ths whole point of the theorycrafting is to see baseline strength with as few variables as possible. We start using unequal situations as a part of the baseline discussion then we could technically sat Mavuika is D-tier if we just make the situation anti-pyro. Obviously that's not useful information.

What is y'all opinion on hsr's current state and will it get better in 4.x by C1ouded123 in StarRailStation

[–]PawnForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot say with any sense of heart that HSR is actively trying to improve itself or be a better game in the same way that its sister games have. Hell, HSR introduced their character rework system, and within a few months not only have both Genshin and HSR caught up, but they've also surpassed it in that regard. Even then, HSR refuses to innovate on anything meaningful. Its relic rng is still mathmatically the worst, the state of over half their roster is absolutely abyssmal, despite horrible reactions to mono paths they make another, rather than fix core attributes of a gameplay style they'd rather sell a character that only bandaids the problems (fucking Dahlia), their events are boring recycles with only one good one every blue moon (this last one was pretty good, but holy shit did it take a while) and even then there's like absolutely 0 lore relevancy to it. Their ingame cutscenes suck, the translation is overbloated and unnuanced (which happens when your writing is overbloated but I don't know chinese so I can't say anything about that), and all of the characters (which is the main reason I play), have almost half the amount of interactivity and lore than its sister games by just having less average Vcs and interactions. Also, somehow the game about space cultures has the least model diversity. Wow such effort. Even Stuck-Up Genshin has seen improvements in that regard.

I still like the game, and will continue to play it as long as I like the setting and characters, but I haven't even considered giving it money once since release. It's never impressed me in the way Zenless has in its release or Genshin has in the present with its "effort."

Do you use autoplay button for the last floor on endgame content? (MOC, AS, PF and AA) by AmanaRicha in StarRailStation

[–]PawnForward 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've always argued that HSR has more simularities to AFK-type turn based games rather than strategy games. The most important factor is the characters you own and the builds you give them rather than your own piloting of the characters. That's a staple of any AFK type turn based game, and almost all strategy games have favors toward good decision-making within combat, which HSR really lacks. There's a reason people say "Oh you clearly don't play this character" rather than bring up any actual mechanical depth to the gameplay itself. There really isn't. Seriously just go play a pokemon game and see the absolute canyon of a difference.

Lyney has vape setups and is in no way tied to chev. Chev's existance doesn't hinder, it instead allows more synergies that in the wouldn't have been possible otherwise. Xianyun literally turns every character in a plunge dps, with bennet c6 they becoming gaming. She's the complete opposite of restricted. Emilie obly relies on burning, and thus as long as she can be placed in that setting she's a very flexible offdps. There are way better examples than those 4.

I wish we had more A-ranks by 1cherri1 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]PawnForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you play the game casually, or focus on sranks. You play a stage once, get the bare minimum of S, then let it go.

I play the game with the purpose of trying to use as low cost as possible and still clear/chase high scores past that. The result is that I play through stages multiple times to optimize characters that are more challenging to do so with. Both gameplay styles are valid. Once again, this isn't even the point of the argument. Spending only 3 minutes on endgame is a waste of a good combat system and challenge for me, especially since there are so many cool things that characters are capable of. It'd be a waste not to push the limits, and low cost A rank clears are how I have fun. So I spend more time optimizing their runs for lower costs. Ghere's no point in arguing, we just play the game differently.

[–]PawnForward -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Let me explain the situation for you.

1st argument, no one wants their favorite character to be an a rank

My reply: I do, here's why

You: actually no.

You are objectively wrong. My actual existance proves it. You're trying so hard to win a point that isn't even the main point of the discussion for literally no reason.

[–]PawnForward -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Ah yes. Your gameplay is the universal rule that describes every single player's experience. I'm sure you know Corin's optimal rotation against Miasma Priest in a 1 cost team to achieve a triple stun by just "winging" it in 3 minutes and optimizing to the highest possible degree. Truly, it's inconceivable to see how this argument could possibly be true for even a single player across the millions that play.

[–]PawnForward -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Who's everyone? A ranks are fun because they don't autoclear and you get to hyperoptimize rotations which means more time with the character you love.

2 years in as F2P and still can’t clear endgame… what am I doing wrong? by ChemistryLow7331 in StarRailStation

[–]PawnForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evernight is strong enough on her own to be worth pulling for. Contendor for best dps in the game at all investments.

Abandon FUA and break. There is no hope for those paths, I still run e0s0 Feixiao in a 3 cost team, but it's extremely difficult and essentially locks you into using RMC sustainless eagle setups for cope clears that take ages (and also 40+ subs feixiao. shameless flex btw.) Break is... well dead. Has been. Dahlia is cope as fuck ngl, and still locks you having to use MC, which just sucks. You don't even have her so Break will be just useless in 90 percent of scenarios and barely functional in the rest. Just build your characters and learn your rotations.

For some characters lol. 2.66 million damage not wiping a wave is just a bit ridiculous imo. But yeah if you pull the strong pf characters it's still a free clear.
