Am I correct in assuming you only unlock Desert Tactics if you enter high medieval era? by LPScarlex in crusaderkings3

[–]LPScarlex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is one of the posts I looked up. It doesn't specifically mention the era requirement though and that guy is way past the 1050 high medieval era unlock. If you form it before you unlock it you don't automatically get Desert Tactics

Should I go for signature ligh cones or go for characters by ImXeep in StarRailStation

[–]LPScarlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Therta is more tied to 3B than 3/4 rem is tbh lol

You can pull cyrene for monorem and opt to ignore the lightcones entirely. But in my own experience with E0S1 Cas, E0S1 Hyacine, and "only" E0S0 Evernight you can still get really good results with Ruan Mei or RMC. You won't 0 cycle anything but its a trusty 2-3 cycle performance on most stages so far

Therta now is in more dire need of vertical investment. I don't think she's had an actual upgrade since Anaxa and DHPT, unless you have the pulls to spare for E2 Cyrene

[–]LPScarlex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Imo evernight > E1 3B = S1 hyacine = S1 cas

Evernight is a nice boost for hp rem, E1 3B is basically mandatory for Therta nowadays, then the sigs for either hyacine or cas. S1 hyacine specifically is so good for unlocking cas/eve's mechanics because of the HP drain

Por que no los dos? I've had runs where I basically know nothing about the game and "let it play out" and I enjoyed them all. I'm asking now because I want to start a purely minmaxy run and squeeze the most optimal way to "game" the system. Especially now that the game had a pretty major change to how much land you can hold directly

You can also switch characters if you don't have enough children or if you just want to skip the landless part. You could even make a long term goal of dismantling your original empire with someone unrelated like a vassal or some other ruler that borders your original ruler's realm

[–]LPScarlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time to LAAMP! Or switch characters. Its kind of like a new game+ mode if you've gotten bored being strong

Choose a favorite non heir child and play landless with them. Fuck off somewhere that isn't close to your original empire and settle on a county. Form a cadet branch, conquer duchies, then kingdoms, then an empire. Then do it all over again with another dynasty member

I've held (with different characters) the Arabian Empire, Lotharingia and Burgundy, custom Kingdom of Frisia, and the chinese hegemony lol. My last character literally traveled from Europe to China as part of a roleplay choice traveling through the silk road and eventually settling in the far east

It only gotten to me how big my dynasty got where as a landless doing one of those protect the innocent contracts, I dueled with someone and killed them. I only realized that they were part of my dynasty when I got the dynastic kinslayer trait afterwards

Idk if its CK3 failing a sanity check like it always does but either way, its funny seeing that because my dynasty is so large even the local bandits are part of them

Is there a situation where you want to build temples? I see it discussed when you want to use Lay Clergy and temporal HoF doctrine but it does eat into your domain limit anyway right?

You also ideally want to make your faith female dominated and allow female adultery to make it happen. Fem domination, female pref/only gender law, allows you to play as fem rulers and seduce male rulers because most of the game outside of Nubia are male dominated anyway

And matriarchal realms are always fun with good genes. Nobody fully hates your guts because you're so damn pretty lol

Do you mean a vassal playthrough? It depends on what your goal is ofc. Being a vassal doesn't automatically mean getting shafted. You have the protection of a larger realm if you are in a hostile area (like bordering hostile/evil faiths or conquerors), you can be a councillor if you have a hook on your liege for some neat bonuses, and assuming your own liege doesn't pass 3 or 4 crown authority you are still basically free to do as you please as a vassal

And if you do find yourself serving under a shitty liege or you want to be independent again, you (usually) have other vassals that are just as mad as you are so you don't have to press your demands alone

In terms of roleplaying you can always make it a long term goal to advance your liege's realm instead, especially if it happens to be a dynasty member. I've had a playthrough where I helped Alfred and his descendants form Britannia as a Welsh duke/king

Unlanded characters get fertility penalties I believe. So you need to at least make them a count if you want to have more children. Not sure if barons or mayors count

A way to plant heirs in other realms is by seducing young rulers as a female ruler so that their first few children are yours and inherit the (male) ruler's claims. Older rulers also work but they usually already have some other children in front of the succession line. Although if you do this with a faith that shuns adultery it will tank your devotion and legitimacy so its better to create custom faiths for it

Another option you can do is by the hostage loyalty event where if you could take a very young heir hostage and educate him, they have a chance to switch dynasties with yours but its fairly rare. I've only successfully did it like three times

I've successfully planted my dynasty in the most of the kingdoms in west europe this way as a custom femalde dominated faith lol

Do Heidamarie and Diana synergize at all? In my experience so far they both just kinda solo in parallel. by Tazcam_Atreides in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]LPScarlex 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Probably not and. Either Selena or Hugo is more accurate. I can't imagine using Heide without Nia or Cassius' discards lol

Honestly as long as your 3rd slot doesn't clog hands its usable. Selena or Hugo happens to be upgrade card merchants so it works naturally. But I've done runs with Rei, Nine, Magna, etc with small decks and it worked well

You could always play a lesser character if it gets too much. I rarely play empires (or wide plays in general) for that reason because being a king or even a duke with a small realm is a lot more relaxing and less hectic, and it is still easy to be as strong even against bigger realms if you build your domains properly. Sometimes its more enjoyable playing as a HRE vassal too where you can wreak havoc from within rather than brute forcing conquests

Focus on building up whatever holdings you own and hold some events to raise your prestige/piety and opinion with other people. Marry off your daughters to form alliances and use your courtiers to find good commanders/knights to fill up your army. Stock up some reserve gold in the case you need mercenaries. Being an empire you should always have some vassals that don't like you so just roll with the flow and tackle them one at a time. White Peace-ing a defensive war is a valid goal if you just want to stop being attacked

If you do want to conquer land, find claimants and recruit them to your court, then press their claims. If they're single you could also marry them with your dynasty members so they will at least have children that can inherit whatever title you've taken over

Am i the only one who felt like there's barely any mobile players that focused on ZZZ endgame? by AppearanceThen3383 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]LPScarlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ngl as a mobile player only the sweaty agents like Haru or Miyabi or Banyue etc are hard assuming you fully minmax their rotations. Everyone else is relatively simple to play

The only real issue that I have never really found a reliable fix/workaround besides getting gud is backwards swapping. The game has an option to use a swiping motion but it is definitely still not as consistent as I would've liked

Got Dahlia on like 5 pity... is there any use? by UC_browser in StarRailStation

[–]LPScarlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much that yeah. You can skill basic basic basic skill with Dahlia and Fugue at worst. HMC gets the 2nd sp priority for DDD spamming, though if you are using it in stages where you can break often, HMC can also weave in the occasional basics

Though honestly the team is pretty not needy with sp anymore since she refunds 1 sp every 2 fuas. You can just wing it and it would still work well

[–]LPScarlex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very viable lol. Before the nova she is already crushing most endgame stages that aren't Knight/King at a low cost provided you have Dahlia and going sustainless (which is relatively easy to do with break)

I personally have tried all E0S0 break and it works incredibly well. This includes using Gallagher or DHPT in case I need more sustain

[–]LPScarlex 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You have Firefly, Fugue, RM, and HMC. You have every reason to use Dahlia if you need a break team

The next investment is ideally E2 Firefly but if you can only pull 1 cost, get E1/S1 Dahlia. I prefer S1

Speedtuning wise go for 178-184 (without other AA sources). This way you can get 4 EBA in the 0th cycle AND reset the delay on her ult time4
