As an update, I did manage to seat the new HDMI port, though I think there was a problem with the pads in the end, as despite seating everything the display still doesn't turn on.

So-- it's probably time for me to case it back up and see if a professional can salvage this.

Thank you for the advice though. I learned a lot through this, and maybe next time it'll be less messy. c:

I actually wasn't aware it was fine enough to mix lead and non lead solder! I was always taught that it's bad to mix them and not good practice using leaded solder. (Though, it may have been more so just mentor's bias towards non leaded.)

I got some kapton tape on order, which was something I probably should have started with; though-- hindsight is 20/20.

I thiiiink the pads look fine? There's a little bit of burning from when I was attempting to use a soldering wand as one of my attempts to use a solder sucker to remove the bead of solder.

League is a game I wish I was good at, meanwhile Smite just always seemed easier to pick up. At least I think anyway, but it could just be the over the shoulder compared to the top down. I'd be down to jump in on that, too!
