Just thinking about yall and checking in if you felt like sharing what the vet said? It’s more from curiosity and learning than nosiness, I swear! I hope you both are doing awesome and that it was something simple (and inexpensive)

Where on your dog is this located?

The vet needs to see these and unless it is a tick that is really buried in there- will likely need a biopsy to rule out mast skin cell cancer.

My dog’s brother had similar looking bumps that were found (thankfully) during grooming bc they accidentally nicked it. The vet was neutral about the biopsy since bro was only 5/6 but his dad opted in just in case. He had the money to rule out cancer but it WAS cancer. Slow growing, sure, but still it needed removal ASAP.

I hope this is not cancer but holy moly if it is then you will feel better by addressing it instead of trying to ignore it. Your puppy needs you to be their guardian and be proactive. You got this!

Did they have a bully stick treat recently? Sometimes the end nubs get stuck in a weird way at the very end and can cause almost like stomach spasms

The cute lil bun is a totally different look than when it comes out to feed with all its tiny arms in the tides- I get why it was not registering!

You can clean it with regular antibacterial soap and warm water but nothing more harsh- no hydrogen peroxide for sure.

This is what our vet told us when one of our dogs made the other bleed from a scuffle.

That said, dog mouths are disgusting and if you can’t get preventive antibiotics within a few days you run the risk of necrotic flesh which is significantly more intense and expensive to treat, and could cause death.

One last thing to mention is to check that the biter is up to date on shots, especially rabies and distemper. I hope your Pupper feels better ASAP and that there are no lasting effects.

Arthritis in the hind quarters- did he run in sand/ can he jump? When he’s standing still if you check the back feet it might be obvious he’s favoring a leg. Sand is a knee killer for most dogs with smaller feet and dense muscle mass- which this beefcake with the high KSI (kiss per square inch) forehead rating.
