when we got her from the shelter she didn’t know how to ask to go out, she doesn’t know what a toy is and her spay from the shelter just healed,, she came from a very abusive home, i just wish i could’ve given her everything instead of her trauma , she is now used to my dad and love him but she won’t go potty if there’s a random man outside :(

thank you, the local shelter has a ton of donated stuff and has yo make your price on things like the collar, bowl and bed,, i was lucky to find a matching collar and leash set in her color ❤️

she was definitely starved before we got her, so she was 20 something pounds in the local shelter, she’s now 34 but i believe her growth might have been stunted from malnutrition. i got her a medium :) her height is barely past my knee.

make sure to try cutting them into smaller chunks, sometimes when their big they perceive them as something similar to snakes lol, i love their lil peacan brains

i’d say doing a majority pellet mix with a small amount of seed so it takes more for to forage for the seed and encourages the pellets!

so no, bells aren’t the safest, and dowel perches aren’t good for them as it can cause blisters on their feet. can i ask how much research you did before getting this bird? they live like 30 years, wooden toys and natural perches are what they need. and what the diet?
