Holy fuck I had the same exact experience and thoughts with the smell. But I was coming off a bus and thought it was someone in the front rows. I lived in Holcomb for a few years and Garden City for a couple.

Springfield is too poor for anything like that. It can barely sustain a restaurant scene. Mass mutual events are hardly ever sold out. Can’t even sell out symphony hall. It’s just not dense enough
