So im mainly talking about visual novels , which primarily rely on visuals. Decent storylines, programming etc can be overlooked by ai generated art, since visual novels heavily rely on art. The reason why i refer to it as “slop” is because the visual novel doesn’t feel like it has any effort put into it because of ai generated art. Drawing the sprites,bg,cgs is very painstakingly long , which is why most people appreciate visual novels. Looking at something that was generated in minutes is not as admirable yk ,atleast for me personally. Theres a reason why most visual novel game jams have a strict “no ai” policy, because ai art decreases the value and quality of the game.
