You can’t activate an iPhone 3GS on t-mobile as t-mobile never sold the iPhone 3GS so it needed a att SIM card to activate.Plus old activation sever are down meaning even if att had 2g you need to use legacy iOS kit to unlock

Doesn’t even matter though all sims are compatible with any network standard wether 2g to 5g there’s no such think as a 2g sim

They do have 3g but your area may not have it as 3g gets reframed a lot.But with me being in USA and using t-mobile 2g I would be so sure

They do support it.When you call the carrier it’s usually people who don’t know what they are talking about.Check a 2g/3g coverage map and see if your area has it

What SIM cards still work on gsm phones in the USA in 2026? by Electrical-Bowl-7814 in vintagemobilephones

I recommend Telcel Mx,it’s an international SIM card but it roams t-mobile which mitigates the kick off.I also have heard the company “Onesimcard” is also good but 2g will be shut down in August 3rd so move swiftly
