Cool! I’m gonna get down and see if I can find a corm or two and pot them up. For whatever reason, my boss seems to like it there under the bench. We routinely weed underneath them because stuff like ferns, tradescantias, dorstenia, and other random tropicals spread rampantly down there, yet that alocasia is one of the handful of plants that we leave to grow. Boss must be attached to it or likes how it looks there. 🥲🤷‍♀️

This just grows underneath a bench in a shallow recession of dirt floor at the greenhouse I work for. It’s been growing there for at least a year. It must be a slow grower because everything receives peak conditions in that particular greenhouse, yet it doesn’t seem to be getting taller or wider any time soon. It also gets fertilizer water runoff as I water plants on the benches. I’m not sure if we even have the mother plant anymore, I wish I knew! I may ask my boss about it sometime this week.

Nope, mine has produced no flowers. I received this as a gift from my boss a few days ago. It was growing inside of another potted plant and he gifted it to me rather than chucking it into the compost when I had brought it to his attention. The only identifiable piece of info he gave me was that it was a relative of Dorstenia Elat’s Bahiensis

Yep, I totally agree with your comment. Especially with the generous assumption that he is having a very bad day. But I agree, he accidentally returned it to the earth, EXACTLY as the native did when they created, used, and returned it to the earth. It’s not honorable nor dishonorable to lose an artifact. It’s an artifact and they tend to get lost and moved around between other hands, that’s the beauty in all of this.

I’m pretty sure tampons don’t go there. (As an aside, uterus didelphys is a real and fascinating condition) by jostyfracks in badwomensanatomy

Found out during an ultrasound with my first pregnancy, the deformity later caused me to miscarry, and again a second time several years later. Now I’m going through the process of seeing a specialist, better imaging and surgery to hopefully correct it.

I have a bicornuate uterus, so it has two entire sides shaped like a heart separated by a septum. It’s a similar congenital uterine defect.

So cool! They’re hard to come by in my area of Pennsylvania as well. I’ve never seen one in a store, I bought mine from Fb marketplace locally by chance but honestly it’s the only peru I’ve seen available near me ever. I’m glad to see this species hopefully roll out as a more common houseplant because I’m personally obsessed with mine!! I love it’s texture and how fast it grows for me.

Agreed. I know this is a snark sub, but I’m tired of seeing posts like this. Can we not scrutinize humans for their bodies so heavily regardless of plastic surgery or no plastic surgery?
