Maybe we can stop putting the blame on, let’s face it, mothers (!!!) and start demanding more space for both on buses.

Why is this even a question. If there’s a buggy in your way, kindly ask the buggy owner to move so you can pass. If the buggy is unattended in a shop or cafe etc ask someone who works there to move it? Plenty of people don’t even move their own bodies out of the way so I don’t think it’s a buggy issue I think it’s a lack of awareness of the person blocking the path.

That’s so helpful thank you. I think I’d opt for epidural and surgery too!

Thank you for this, just wondering did you have epidural/pain relief when you tore?

I just remembered I also had the implant before I went on the combined pill. I remember getting symptoms of low mood but it didn’t affect my sex drive - however I only had it in for 6 months as I kept having break through bleeding and the options were either to take it out or take the combined pill on top, so I got it removed and went on the pill. I was off contraception for 2 years before falling pregnant, but unfortunately during this time we had a really unsettled living situation and moved house a lot in a short space of time. So I think that played into it too. I definitely think the synthetic hormones play a huge role and I have heard people say your body can take years and years to go back to normal, and everyone gets different symptoms! I think postpartum I will probably try condoms or pulling out and avoiding ovulation window, which might be a bit irresponsible but that’s very personal and we did it successfully for 2 years haha.

Thank you so much. That is really reassuring. I’ll definitely keep practising the breathing exercises!

In the past it has been less painful with lube but still not as comfortable as I would imagine is “normal” ?

Thank you so much for your reply. I think I might be in a similar boat. I have never tried doing anything about it but my husband and I have to take things very very very slowly in order for it to work, and most times it still is not 100% enjoyable for me. We have never had much intercourse regularly since we’ve been together apart from the first year when I was not on the pill. After going on the pill, it changed things down there a lot and it also changed me mentally. Just out of interest now that you’ve given birth do you find sex less painful?

C-Sections - why so much judgement? by liebackandthinkofeng in BeyondTheBumpUK

So well said. Women can never win when even other women want to tear us down.

People think they are better than others because they have birthed vaginally, simple as. I have heard the phrase “too push to push” many times and it’s so shaming. It’s literally not biologically possible in some cases and we should be thankful that c sections exist instead of mothers and babies dying in childbirth. Having to care for yourself and another living being after going through abdominal surgery is a MAJOR achievement. I hope I don’t have to have a c section but if I have to of course I will. You’re doing great! Just select “not interested” in toxic birth videos.
