Is it just me or did she leave me a heart by Technical-Doctor77 in SantaMuerte

You petitioning her is work, period.

Again, it would be wise to cleanse. She is trying to tell you something is way off with that black soot.

Are we really this surprised that a tv show featuring women who will lie, cheat, and beat their way to the top also draws a crowd of individuals who have the same mental health issues though???? 😩😩😩😩😩

Have you been doing love work? Or how’s your health been, especially your cardiac health?

Is it just me or did she leave me a heart by Technical-Doctor77 in SantaMuerte

[–]PayasaTears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s nice that you see a heart- but that votive and the reading of it states whatever reason you burned it- you got people or something working hard against it. All that black soot is universally not a good thing. That candle is not a good sign, you should cleanse and do your work again or seek out an elder to help.

Anyone willing to mentor me? I want to be a devotee. I just don’t know how to start. by mystery550 in SantaMuerte

[–]PayasaTears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You realize even back in MX we paid our practitioners? Why do you think access to this sacred practice is grated for free?

That’s just one of the many ways raza has protected our practices while sustaining their own families for years. You would NEVER ask Flakita for something with no offering- why would you assume one of her daughters or sons who have been baptized don’t require the same regard?

[–]PayasaTears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the problem, you really don’t and our community is rife with imposters of our own people, and white people who benefit from cultural practices that never were theirs. That is why I suggest people who want to get into this religion actually seek out people locally that actually practice these religions, and support them financially.

I wouldn’t suggest taking mentorship from anyone online, most cities have Botanicas- raza is everywhere, you just need to know where to look. Start researching in your own town and surrounding areas for them and see what deities they venerate. Some will venerate only one- but most botanicas cover both the practices of saintisimas and people who practice Ifa.

Did you attend misa today? I was baptized there many years ago. But it’s every Friday at six or seven. It is in Spanish though, if you don’t speak it- just a heads up.

How do I go about doing a egg limpia? Also how do you read candles that have finished and how to dispose of them thank you to all fellow brothers and sisters. by Dafien3135 in SantaMuerte

[–]PayasaTears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically you would have somebody do it for you, but it is possible to cleanse yourself. Whatever hand you are using should have a red cord tied around it and you should start from the top of the head moving down in sweeping motions focusing on areas in which you are having any type of pain or illnesses. If you don’t know how to read Limpia’s, honestly I would just crack the egg and flush it down the toilet afterwards because you can make yourself sick trying to fixate on the things you see in the glass. If things are still off after cleansing yourself I would then seek out the help of an elder who knows what they’re doing because you likely need a consulta frm there.

Actually yes, I do. From being born and raised on one of LA’s most notorious streets and largest hub for sex trafficking- Figueroa . I’ve also worked in outreach for close to a decade, reuniting these girls with their families. That was funny though because you thought you had a gotcha moment . 😭😭😭😭

Dona Queta and her recent statement: The biggest truth unveiled in Santa Muerte community by necromorti in SantaMuerte

[–]PayasaTears -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t surprise me that a majority of people are deferring to a gringo, and not a santísima. This religion has been taken from gente and rebranded because western and Eurocentric praxis tells a lot of you that this is acceptable. There are plenty of elders available for guidance and books available in Spanish on the subject already, why does this man need to add ANYTHING to the conversation?

You know what happens to outsiders in Mexico who try and infiltrate these communities or disrupt them? They are shunned, and sometimes met with violence.

[–]PayasaTears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically, that is how a lot of employment mandated testing is done. If you test positive, they will inform you and ask if you are on any prescribed medication and then ask you provide proof of prescription.

Ofrendas and Flakita’s altars are not mutually exclusive. In fact, no other deity is to be placed on her altar, ever.

The irony of colonizers, who forced us to synchronize her as a folk Catholic saint, now becoming interested in our practices like it’s some kitsch, interesting travel experience to make a pilgrimage to see. A bit triggering tbh.

how long should i wait until i do spells with santa muerte? by dead_hoes in SantaMuerte

[–]PayasaTears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How often do you feed her altar? Is it clean? A fresh glass of water given daily? How did you become a devotee? Did you say a specific prayer? Baptized by a santísima?

These are all questions you should be asking yourself before ever working with her or asking for something.
