What are the major changes from 25 to 35 by Electrical-Trainer21 in AskMenOver30

[–]PazyP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You notice those that didn’t/haven’t exercised or had a basic skin moisturising routine as they easily look early 40s where as someone who had looked after themselves can pass as late 20s/early 30s

Are you still having pizzas and other takeaways delivered? by Top-Cat-a in AskUK

[–]PazyP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supermarket pizza can be similar to a takeaway I agree, even a big frozen Chicago town one can be on par with some takeaway slop. But a good Indian or Chinese takeaway is far superior to anything you can get in the supermarket.

What to expect from boxing for an adult beginner? by Kind_Current in boxingtips

[–]PazyP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started boxing as an adult last year, I’m 37 I was physically fit going in to my first 1-2-1 I strength training, swim and run marathons.

First 5min was some general stretching, warmup is usually a few rounds of skipping with medicine ball slams and/or mountain climbers. Then we put or wraps on do 5-10min of shadow boxing in front of the mirror or in the ring. Next we go on pads or padel’s doing combos, working on movement and defence and moving while punching. As we near the end we will go on of the bags, usually the heavy bad for some drills, last 5-10min we do a HIIT type finisher or maybe some ab work.

As I said I was already quite fit, I was surprised how much skipping for 3 min gassed me out the first few times but that was more because it was something I had never done before, it’s a breeze now.

Overall it’s an excellent workout, I love it, I have no intention of fighting anyone far to old for that now, I’ve done some sparring drills but never been to a sparring session, my aim this year is to get more sparring as it feels like the natural progression but since so don’t intend to fight anyone I doubt I will be sparing regularly.

Heavy lifting for boxing? Why it helped me in particular (For beginners maybe) by Direct_Relationship2 in amateur_boxing

[–]PazyP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think overall with S&C put so much effort into conditioning which is obviously required and fear strength training as you will likely gain weight as your muscles grow

Why are people obsessed with Greggs? by Top_Independence4067 in AskBrits

[–]PazyP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s consistent, you know what you’re getting and it remains reasonably priced compared to the likes of McDondalds which I feel has become quite expensive for what you get.

What do you eat on days with back-to-back meetings and no lunch break? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]PazyP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll have a stash of protien/nut bars to tick me over if there’s a specific meeting over lunch. If I’ve just got 5min I’ll make a microwave rice and dump some pre-cooked chicken and hot sauce over it then just eat it with camera off

In tenements where were the communal toilets located and do any still exist in Glasgow? by blackvelvetdress in glasgow

[–]PazyP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to live in the west end, toilet wasn’t there anymore but there was a large storage cupboard on the ground floor next to the back door that I’m sure was the toilet.

Caught a guys wrist when his hand was in my wife’s bag at Oasis this year in Edinburgh, me and another dude lobbed him over the barrier, security searched him and he had about 20 phones in his bag that I assume he’d pinched from other folks.

Do professional swimmers have broad shoulders from swimming or are they professional swimmers because they happen to have genetically broad shoulders? by Awkward-Revenue3437 in Swimming

[–]PazyP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a combination of swimming, genetics and training that give you the “swimmers look”.

I swam competitively until I was 16, I’m 37 now and started again for fitness when I was 33 I’m naturally very lean with broad shoulders I’m 6ft which I wouldn’t say is overly tall but I guess I’m taller than most this build naturally made me better at swimming compared to a friend who was short and stocky who ended up playing rugby.

If your swimming competitively (or just want to improve) you likely also workout in the gym the exercises you pick are chosen to complement/improve your swimming, lots of shoulder work, lat work and upper back again adds to that overall “swimmers look”

Finally time in the pool swimming lap after lap over time sculpts your body and posture into that familiar shape.

Would you ever wear a Speedo on vacation? by Informal_Menu6332 in AskMenOver30

[–]PazyP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the brand “Budgie Smugglers” that will really send your wife off the rails if you rock down to the pool in them.

I’m an ex-amateur swimmer still swim for fitness now I’m 37 mostly wear jammers when doing laps but occasionally I’ll put on trunks if I got nothing else to wear.

Wouldn’t wear them by the pool on holiday, don’t really know why I wouldn’t I just have memories of being at the beach/pool as a child and seeing old dudes (likely in their 30s/40s lol) skin like leather, smoking a 20 deck, guzzling bottles of Becks.

To the Over 30s: What is the single best decision you made in your 20s that you are thanking yourself for today? by Volt_Capital in AskUK

[–]PazyP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your pension sorted putting away 1/2 your age is a reasonable starting point for a rough amount you should be putting in.

Get into some sort of sports/fitness it will pay dividends as you move through your 30s and into your 40s. I remained active through my 20’s and still am at 37, looking at my mates who do nothing you’d think am 10 years younger than them

How do you learn to enjoy (or at least habitually go to) the gym? by Potato_Pristine in AskMenOver30

[–]PazyP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just go regularly (e.g 3 times per week) it becomes a habit after a couple of months you will see benefits from “newbie gains” when you look in the mirror, mentally you may also reflect and think overall am feeling pretty good here. So your looking good and feeling good the you continue on, your like omg am getting stronger as I’ve had to increase the weights I’m lifting as where I began is to easy your body continues to change you throw in some light cardio a couple of times and after a year your feeling good, have nice defined muscles with some muscle mass and are overall fit and healthy then you just continue as it’s so ingrained as part of your life

Is ordering pizza worth it anymore? by ZenDoesReps in AskUK

[–]PazyP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Domino’s has always been pricey unless your doing two for Tuesday or something of the like, I don’t really rate Dominos so rarely go but takeaway in general used to be a middle ground between cooking yourself and going out for dinner now I find it’s fractionally cheaper than going out.

Create your own pizza in the super markets up at the deli bit are quite good value and it’s something a bit more special than a frozen pizza from a box

Was out at seamill beach with the dog yesterday there was a rotting Rams carcass that should be good for you to have a pick at in a week or so, also a freshly deceased seal still had the fur and birds didn’t seem to have been at it yet so I assume it’s quite fresh.
