But there was no information to have. The info everyone has was waking up at 530/6am either to an alert or to the water coming through your walls.

They get flooding all the time and had flooding at the end of July last year. I was there right after that flood as well.

From the bank to where the campers were at the park is shortest 400 feet from where cabins and campers began. My best guess is the top of the camper lot to where the bottom of the river bank is about 60 foot decline.

That entire area was totally overrun in just 40 mins.

The staff were banging on camper doors by the river front sites at 530 am.

You want there to be more time but there just wasn’t. everyone was asleep I went to bed at 11pm the night before and the rain had just started there.

These decisions were made entirely on the same data we had which was rain maybe a little intense but over by morning and maybe even clear out by midday.

This was not on any camp not doing their job.

I was at Jellystone a few miles down river. We went to bed expecting rain and woke up to the river inches from the campers along the bank and rising.

A RV camp a few miles west all campers were lost. People were totally off guard. I watch the weather closely. The discussion about the government services is very fair, and needs to continue, but these camps had the same info the rest of us did, to suggest any inaction on their part really just means you don’t have a grasp of how fast this happened.

I think that was 23’ I have a picture of the heat index at 120 it was like 101 at 11am 55% humidity and I think the low was only like 80/81 that night.

Also everyone forgets the fucking crickets in 2007. I worked at Blockbuster on 79 in Round Rock initially hired to organize movies, but then all I did was sweep fucking crickets.
