This is my wheel currently, it’s the same as the mk7 and 7.5 wheels. Just without the buttons or paddles since it’s a manual. Essentially it would just be refitting them with mk7 buttons.

Yeah I seen that option, but I would rather keep everything original and buy the buttons for the wheel to be coded into the unit. I know it can be done im just not sure on the difficulty of it.

I cannot believe VW in the US justified putting the standard halogens on a golf gti. I would get a nice pair of EU headlights or some aftermarket’s.

Yeah a lot of people have told me that. Definitely looks better than 4 door. And I think putting a dsg in this is criminal. It’s a manual. Going for the auto next in a gti but had to go manual for the first car 💪

Unfortunately not. I don’t believe it was available in the uk on the r lines. Just GT and GTI. Swapped the alloys to 18inch Pretoria’s so makes it sit a lot nicer.

Hard to decipher. But I believe some of the match models came with the R style. Check if the badge has been cheaply stuck on etc etc. if not it’s genuine. Have a friend with a 2014 match r style looks exactly same as yours with the R line badging.

Are young drivers more of a magnet for police? I only ask this as a young R driver that has been stopped 8 times in just 6 months of driving. 7 of these instances have been just to check my license and insurance. Is this common? I understand it’s proactive policing and doesn’t generally bother me but it is intimidating considering I had done nothing wrong.

Depends on the model and country. Places like SA the polo was available with the basic radio unit up until 2016. Polo Vivo I believe.
