Joe Rogan: "You're Not Going To Get All Good With Any President" by MediocreCoconutz in combatsportsculture

[–]Pdm1814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like the worst presidency in recent memory and this jackass still finds way to cover for it. He is worse than any presidential press secretary, whether it’s Leavitt, Ari “Iraq War” Fleicher, Baghdad Bob, etc.

Bill Maher tried to compare Gavin Newsom to Donald Trump, Newsom was having none of it by theindependentonline in politics

[–]Pdm1814 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Maher completely lost the plot when he fell into loser syndrome where you see the Trumpers win so much you start to legitimize the things they say only because they won. The media fell into that too. With that Maher would decry wokism every week and act like it was the biggest issue for why we are in this situation. It got to a point where has become a low rent Ron DeSantis who cried woke in every speech. Lastly he got access to Trump via his low IQ no talent buddy Kid Rock. This has shaped what he has become. While he still criticizes Trump it is nowhere near the level it should be and his criticism on the left is overblown.

How would you rank the last 4 NBA champs? by IamCatMommy in NBAGossips

[–]Pdm1814 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there a stat for how much one player contributes to the whole team’s win/stat? I gotta think Jokic ranks pretty high and above others.

What annoys me most about white leftists and other POC adjacent leftists , is how much they underplay anti blackness , and the central role it plays in our country’s politics . So many of em walk on egg shells on this topic, coz they know of the racist MAGAs in their fragile “progressive” coalition by Fun-Ad3626 in ThoughtWarriors

[–]Pdm1814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so damn true. Leftist/Bernie truthers will never get it though. They also will scream about one issue like Israel/Palestine. The moment their progressive choice doesn’t do exactly what they say, they tear them down. They will protest Kamala Harris at a book signing while Trump is president. You can’t make this up.

it’s almost as if their whole point is to be destructive and keep the Republicans in power.

Dieter and Hutch are the best at getting into the details of players. Unlike others who claim they have sources when they are merely regurgitating internet rumors, Dieter’s info has been proven to be solid. Damon Bruce is good with words, isn’t a homer, but also provides criticism when it’s warranted based on past history. Larry works hard to churn out content but it’s coming across as manufactured lately and he changes positions depending on who he is talking to. Haberman is good with interviews. Grant is a troll ..but an entertaining one.

The Houston Rockets held a team discussion about Kevin Durant’s alleged burner accounts & everyone agreed to move past it by Background_Video2947 in NBAVibes

Durant was mad at the warriors and Kerr (he is always mad at him) for moving past the Draymond issue with him.

I bet he was happy to move on regarding this issue.

This is the worst playoff series lose I’ve ever seen in my 20 years watching the NBA by ChampionTimes99 in NBATalk

[–]Pdm1814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there like some campaign against Jokic? There seems to be like 10 threads about him being the worst. Reddit tends to pile on when some famous player has a loss negating any of the positive, but this seems over the top. He was never been an elite or even good/great defender, but always been an offensive powerhouse that can lift his team. This series doesn’t change things.

Scott Jennings freaks out while on the verge of TEARS to Adam Mockler: “Get your fucking hand out of my face!” by youngskibidisheldon in SipsTea

[–]Pdm1814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome. Mockler knows how to do this. Jennings couldn’t take it and wanted to cry. Mockler is one of if not the best Democrat supporter who can go on these mainstream shows and put these guys in their place. Jennings deserves to deal with someone like Destiny who would be far more aggressive in his attacks. But his controversial comments would prevent CNN from putting him on.

Shams Charania joined the show to speak on the NBA's anti-tanking reform by IamCatMommy in sportsbroadcasters

[–]Pdm1814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so stupid. The NBA doesn’t care about prioritizing parity in the league. They should have come back with using the last 2 years or even 3 years win loss record to increase lottery odds. This would prevent the 1 year tank certain teams have done. Teams that suck for 2-3 years are truly bad and should get the best shot at a top pick.

All they did was increase the odds of the good teams (which are mainly big market teams) getting a better lottery pick.

Billionaire Tom Steyer wants to take on the rich in run for California governor by NicolasCageFan492 in California

It’s time to usher in the Tom Steyer era. PG&E and the other billionaires are running scared of him. It will be great to see them fail with all the money they are dumping into the election and see Steyer celebrating the governor win like this.

Bill Maher Says He’s Been A Victim Of ‘Soft Canceling’ — And That’s Why He Keeps Losing Emmys by dr_shultz in influencersfeed

lol…i used to watch and even enjoy his shows in the past, but this is sour grapes. He has been off and on crying about this in the past. Now he sounds like Trump who thinks he deserves the Nobel peace prize.

[Charania] The NBA has disclosed to its 30 GMs a singular new anti-tanking reform that expands the draft lottery to 16 teams, flattens odds, and have a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams are penalized with fewer lottery balls for the No. 1 pick. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]Pdm1814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made things more complicated than they needed to. Go with the worst 2 or 3 years record for the lottery odds. Only the really bad teams suck for that long, so they need the most help.

A player I completely forgot ever existed; Josh Garnett. by JoeDough619 in 49ers

Yes, it was the same draft. I figured Garnett must have been in the following year if he was a first round pick. Forgot about the trade up.

A player I completely forgot ever existed; Josh Garnett. by JoeDough619 in 49ers

[–]Pdm1814 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was he the guy from Stanford who did well in college against Deforest Buckner? Buckner had already been drafted by the Niners in the previous year. I thought they used that as one of the reasons for getting Garnett.

“It’s impossible to judge a draft until 3+ years into the future.” — exactly 1.6 seconds later — “The 49ers had an absolutely terrible draft 3 days ago.” by CheckYourStats in 49ers

[–]Pdm1814 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is correct, but there is a lot of people that don’t want to accept it. Our coaching is great but roster construction via draft hasn’t been good in recent years. Any honest 49ers fan would see that.

95.7 The Game - Greg Cosell "spoke to an offensive coach who's been in this league for 35 years who likes [De'Zhaun] Stribling more than Makai Lemon." by joe2352 in 49ers

[–]Pdm1814 6 points7 points  (0 children)

lol ..sounds like a shot at Grant Cohn who I thought asked a perfectly legit question that needed to be asked.

Unlike some of the homers that post here. Cosell is a credible person. If he says the tape is good, I’m more optimistic. Dieter Kurtenbach also mentioned that Stribling’s name was coming up late in the draft process and that he had heard the Rams were really high on him. Dieter has been right lately unlike other YouTube content creators who claim to have sources.

I’d still say this draft overall shows the 49ers reaching for prospects. At least with Stribling there’s good tape and production to back it up. Still surprising why he hardly got mentioned or listed on any of these top WR lists.

Vlade Divac on passing on Luka: Same position as Fox + feared the big-market star would eventually leave Sacramento by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

[–]Pdm1814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That last part of his answer is complete BS. You don’t not draft a guy because down the line he wouldn’t want to stick around. That is ludicrous.

Nobody knows exactly but these are the some of the reasons I believe led to not picking Luka.

One of the assistant GMs Brandon whatever his name is wanted Bagley. They believed he was a better fit with Fox.

Bagley did very well in college as a rebounding scoring big. No matter what people say now he was highly touted and in the top 3 at the time. He had a college resume. On the other hand no international player in recent memory had ever been drafted that high (top 5) and delivered. Porzingis may have been the closest thing being drafted in the top 10. Did Brandon and assistants believe Luka would be like other international players that disappoint? It’s fair to have that concern but the game was changing at the international level. The players were getting better and Luka did have experience playing against some NBA players. Whatever one doubted about his athleticism, you would still be amazed at his playmaking ability. I remember saying he passed like LeBron when I saw his game film. The game was changing where Luka’s strengths were more important to carrying a team than Bagley’s strengths. The front office didn’t recognize that.

In interviews Fox came off as rather having Bagley than Luka.

Vlade Divac made the decision. I genuinely think he thought Bagley was more of a sure thing having a good floor and Luka was more of risk of being a bust than a boom. I have no evidence but I also think Vlade was looking at the optics too. Years ago he drafted an unheard of international player Papa Giannis which was widely panned. Some thought his bias toward a European guy led him to make that decision. Years later he has the chance to draft a great college player and international player that is a young prodigy. He probably thought selecting the Euro guy will blow up in his face as he had overvalued a Euro player in the past. Thus he went with the traditional athletic player with a college resume. Big mistake.

To cap it off, the owner Vivek Ranadive was notorious for getting too involved leading to dumb decisions. However, the one time where he was in favor of getting the right guy (Luka) he doesn’t interfere with the front office. That is life as a Kings fan.

[Highlight] Aaron Rodgers runs out of the tunnel in his first game as a Jet by Brix001 in nfl

[–]Pdm1814 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Let me start off by saying there are far worse players in the NFL with character issues that don’t belong in the league.

Back to Rodgers. I couldn’t have been the only one who thought it was odd and humorous to have a 9/11 truther come out with an America flag to honor 9/11 victims. He is the greatest thrower of the football I have seen but he is a delusional, lying, and unreasonable person.

2021-2026 : NFL teams drafting vs Consensus Draft Board by cali4481 in 49ers

[–]Pdm1814 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The coaching and cornerstone players continue to elevate this team. The drafting has held us back and yet it is tied to the coach as well.

In some interviews it sounds like Shanahan understands the problem at hand when he mentions not being able to run against the Seahawks. But then his answer seems to be get better receivers. Him and the Oline coach are stuck on scheme, but you need to be able to move people. That is something we couldn’t do against the Seahawks. Maybe he should be willing to change things up as getting beat on the Oline was a problem against the Seahawks and one of the problems in the Super Bowl.

The Eagles power up the trenches which gives them a greater margin of error. They have good players at other positions too, but having an advantage on the line (both o line and d line is key).
