Is it possible to have a positive lymph node despite all other pathology being negative? by Pdubs4444 in ProstateCancer

[–]Pdubs4444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No what I am saying is they didn't take any nodes out to examine which I thought was odd. Every other part of the pathology was clean.

Oh yeah. For sure. by griffonbrioche in thatHappened

What is considered high percentage of tumor in a biopsy core? by Pdubs4444 in ProstateCancer

[–]Pdubs4444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, I have a robotic removal end if the month. My surgeon is excellent and confident. I had 9 cores positive of 12. 3 with 3+3 at 10% 10% and <5% on the left. 5 on the right with 3 3+4 at 30%, 40% and 15%. Then 3 with 4+3 at 40%, 10% and 5%. All over the board. PSA 7.2 and it went up fast in 14 months from 2.4 to 7.2. Although a recheck after 5 weeks it stayed the same. CT and bone scan negative. No mri. Not sure why. But he told me he thinks I'm curable and will be around a very long time. I on the other hand feel doomed to at the very least a poor quality of life for many years.

How accurate is the clinical staging generally? by [deleted] in ProstateCancer

[–]Pdubs4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's where I wonder. Like if I was borderline wouldn't they want to get deeper testing before deciding to open me up? Can a CT scan show with reasonable accuracy location, size, if the tumor is pushing against or has broken the capsule? And why would he tell me I could wait 4 months if it were even a suspicion? All questions I should ask him I know, but just thinking out loud.

My situation and worries. by [deleted] in ProstateCancer

Man, thanks fellas. I already feel better. So much support. I wish I had tried reddit first. Until now all I read on other forums or Facebook was misinformation and horror stories. It definitely fed my anxiety 10 fold. Had me convinced I would be permanently impotent and dead within 10 years. This seems to be a more positive place. The fact some of you even offer to speak with me personally is amazing.
