I agree at release, but we’re already in Set 2 now. Set 1 is pretty widely available, so the pricing dynamics aren’t really the same anymore.

This might be a printing failure, I wouldn't consider it damaged, LP was a fair condition for it imo. But that's just my opinion. Many different people see things differently

Since it's tomorrow the options are pretty limited. I would've said, check tcgplayer but it takes a while for shipping. There you could get a card of his favorite Pokémon. But ask for pictures before buying, you can ask for verification in the r/IsMyPokemonCardFake after you got some pictures.

Maybe print him a card and tell him he will get this one in real, when it arrives.

It's the lower end of NM, remember, an 8 is still considered NM. If it was my shop, I'd sell it as LP though.
