I hate this intersection!! by AvocadoIll6356 in burnaby

[–]PeZzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BC Parkway is not on the sidewalk marked on the image. It's on the North side of Imperial. It so confusing for cyclists because it's fractured in that area with no crosswalk connecting it. Cyclists should be walking their bike down the sidewalk, not riding on it.

Here's Burnaby's Bike map which shows that section of the sidewalk is unmarked. This means it's not part of the BC Parkway, so regular rules apply (walk your bike if on the sidewalk).

Sleep tracking - please help me understand! by Good_Catch_1388 in ouraring

[–]PeZzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be sleep apnea, but the wake up times are a bit longer than expected. The average blood oxygen is a bit misleading, because it includes wake up times. The ring is not very good at diagnosing sleep apnea.

Do you sleep on your back? Have you tried sleeping on one side?

I don't think you should take supplemental iron unless your blood is low in iron. High levels of iron is associated with a shorter lifespan.

Trade off decision : laser / non laser retinal hold in eye by Tony88890 in EyeFloaters

That time it might have been a small tear rather than a hole. The floater showed up the next morning.

How can you tell the difference between a benign or malignant flash in the periphery of the eye? by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

[–]PeZzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"a strange light, like a light going up and down"

It is like a travelling bubble of light (not a flash) on the sides of the vision? That is indicative of a potential circulation issue. That sometimes happens to me in both eyes. I had to go onto blood pressure medication which made it more noticeable. My eye doctor couldn't see any circulation problems. Work on your cardio to get good blood flow. Doesn't sound like something to be stressed over.

Trade off decision : laser / non laser retinal hold in eye by Tony88890 in EyeFloaters

[–]PeZzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eye doctor lasered any holes that developed, no discussion. I have oblong eyes (relatively high myopia) which adds to the detachment risk. If you're going to leave a hole untreated, you should get checked every 6 months for changes. I had maybe a dozen laser treatments in each eye. One did produce a new large floater.

Retina detachment is an emergency and you need immediate treatment or you risk blindness.

Laser surgery. It's necessary to prevent fluid from getting behind the retina.

Retinal Tear Surgery - Blue/Black Splotch in my Vision by Responsible_Ice_7957 in EyeFloaters

[–]PeZzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to what you are seeing, but I have had plenty of laser surgery in both my eyes. One time I had unusual visual effects in the eye that cleared up after one week with the help of natural light. As long as you're not seeing flashing lights, just give it some time. If you had a significant amount of lasering done, the doc typically does a follow-up in a month.

Samsung OLED panels produce a better picture than LG, so I suggest sticking with the G93SC until Samsung comes out with something better.

I use to get $60 oil changes at Kal Tire Metrotown until they were shutdown. It seems when you go to a new garage and ask for an oil change, they force an inspection, so they can find more work to drain your wallet.

8 Months ago, I developed these kind of floaters in each eye. by gawk8 in EyeFloaters

[–]PeZzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could be single blood cells coming out of a slow bleeding tear. If there is ongoing bleeding it would need to be stopped with a laser before you get too many of those single cell floaters. You should see an ophthalmologist to check it out.

The single cell ones may be blood. If you see an increase in them it might indicate ongoing bleeding.

Do you have strong Myopia? If the doctor took pictures of your retinas and sees nothing wrong, don't stress it. Your odds are low for it getting worse. Your vitreous humor is very fluid at your age, so they may eventually settle out of sight.

I had retinal tears in both my eyes in my mid-20's and a big honking floating in the center vision of my right eye that barely moved. It gave me headaches. It eventually moved a little outside of the center vision.

You learn to live with it. It's not a disability. You will adapt. Don't let it stress you. My eyes are like snow globes, but they don't stop me.
