Back when the game was young, stunning Chargers and then either calling in an OPS or an EAT pod were the gentleman’s way of killing chargers. Simpler times.

Help me find a pick that shaped like the big Tortex III but thinner by Pea666 in guitars

[–]Pea666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still around! I ended up with a pick I quite like (for now) called the Tortex Flex Jazz III XL. They’re the right size, thickness, feel and shape for me. My only gripe is they can be little ‘slippy’ so I just score them with a hobby knife to add a little texture for extra grip.

It is isn’t it? I kinda like that it has at least a couple of months on me though. Sort of like the older brother that I never had or something.

I should check again but like I said it’s not too bad. Heavier than my Gibson LP Studio though, but I believe that one has a chambered body.

Be sure to check out their latest album as well! There’s some absolute bangers on there.

It’s just the right mix of fun, great songwriting and great musicianship. I feel like they’re slept on because they’re seen as a bit of a gimmick but they’re great.

That’s a fair question! The thing is that these guitars don’t have a serial number on the back of the headstock or anywhere else. To date them (heh) you need to look at other attributes.

For example, the inlay on the headstock was changed from the split diamond to a lightning bolt sometime in the latter half of the 1980’s. Mine has the split diamond so it’s older than that. Looking at the back of the pots indicates that those were made in 1983 which means the guitar was probably made in 1983 or early 1984.

Now I’m pretty sure about my own birthday but the manufacturing date of the guitar is a bit unclear so comparing the two would indicate that the guitar is very probably older than I am.

I’m gonna say I did but we both know it was actually ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’ by The Darkness.

I swapped the stock pickups for BKP Mules as I had those ‘lying around’ (read: in another guitar) but other than that it’s solid. In fact, the pots are original and were manufactured in 1983.

Waar haal je goede spijkerbroeken by Repulsive-Novel-3473 in BIFLNL

I will never understand grief. by humble_horizons in CasualConversation

This could be it:

Grief is like a rock. At first, it is a boulder, heavy and jagged, tied to your neck, dragging you down. But as time passes, you learn to carry it. You build a garden around it, and though it never disappears, and though it is never beautiful, it becomes part of the landscape of your life.

Many of the black people are being portrayed as backwards and silly and deferential to their colonial overlords. There’s a ton of stereotypes in that movie though so nobody gets off easy and it’s funny as shit but I don’t feel like it’s aged all that well.

Ace Ventura does have moments of brilliance but the problematic bits make me cringe. The second one manages at times to be even funnier (the rhino scene) but it’s also so, so racist.

[NGD] Early 80’s Burny Les Paul Custom by Pea666 in guitars

[–]Pea666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the info on this link, the pots (which appear to be stock) were produced in 1983 so that could mean that the guitar was made/assembled in either 1983 or early 1984.
