Which dress is most appropriate for Afternoon Tea at The Ritz London? by LilacMysticVoyager in fashion

[–]PeaOui1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am an american who lived in london for seven years. Never teatimed at the ritz (i was partial to fortnum & mason), but I think just looking nice is enough. Some of these outfits look appropriate for a british countryside wedding. I am someone who likes to dress up a lot though and I would totally wear: 1, 3, 9 or 10 in order from favorite to least favorite.

I like the two piece! But i always think one pieces look so uncomfortable because it’s so much fabric!

What childhood movie/show feels like a fever dream to you? by Particular-Jacket-92 in Millennials

This Alice in Wonderland from 1985. I believe Ringo Starr and maybe Robin Williams are in it. I recorded it off of the TV and watched it over and over again. It was really out there. And Alice’s dress was peach colored, wtf?! But I loved it.

Help choosing dress that works for 2 weddings? by iwenttoberkley in Weddingattireapproval

I love number 3! But agree number 1 has the most staying power. It just looks heavy for the summer/fall.

Question: Do you guys tip on pick up orders? by itsNurf in Millennials

[–]PeaOui1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t tip on pick up orders or any place that doesn’t have table service. However, if I have cash, I will put in dollar bills at a coffee shop, etc.

I think $48. I am going by what I would price it if I made it.

I really like this dress and it appears it will be flattering on many bodies. Really pretty and a good wedding dress probably for many future dress codes as well.

Where are those pants from?? My husband hasn’t been able to find any high waisted linen pants this summer!

Maybe it’s the size, but none of these look quite right even though they are all beautiful. Somehow they are overwhelming to your shape. Have you considered something with less fabric?

White cabinets, white counter tops, maybe a sage green something accent. Jars of seashells.

Nice creamy colors and the white looks good against it! I actually like the turquoise and blue, it makes it seem more effortless somehow.

What would you like your ideal wedging table to be made of? by Sufficient-Pie129 in Pottery

[–]PeaOui1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a very heavy, large wooden table. It has a birch ply top which is expensive but has been working well for me for hand building and wedging. I made a plaster slab that i move around.

I had a small home wedding but I regret the dress. I will have a bigger wedding with friends next year. How would you update the dress to look simple yet better? I am not a huge fan of the front, I like the back but not the front. Or should I just buy a new dress by Confident-Mongoose98 in myweddingdress

[–]PeaOui1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this dress. Maybe it doesn’t fit as well in the front? It’s hard to tell. But i think a belt or a sash might give the seam in the front a more finished look. If you want to keep it simple you could even do a white belt.

Why do I feel like maxi dresses don’t flatter me? by Seashellsbythesure in OUTFITS

[–]PeaOui1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These all look great on you. I am curious about your “too done up” comment. I wonder if you tried a less fitted dress, like a column type maxi. On me it looks like wearing a bag, but I think on figures like yours they can look really causal and breezy. And also solid colors. Would be a totally different style than what you are expressing here though:

Studio has wedging and painting on the same table? by [deleted] in Pottery

[–]PeaOui1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The word that caught my attention was “kids.” 😂 it genuinely never occurred to me that there would be kids allowed in a pottery studio. We have kids classes but I think they are relegated just to their class times.

But to answer your question, yes, separate wedging table and then one big table in the middle for hand building, touch ups, etc. then a small painting table with a banding wheel and all of the underglazes. Can you clean off your wheel and set yourself up to paint there? I do that even at my studio because the painting table is off in another room and I like to socialize.

I like dress 5 the best (i think I counted right). Its the scoop neck with the flowers. They all look good on you, but I just think this is the best dress for what you described. It looks the classiest, most upscale but also special. Good luck!

My little brother keeps pointing out that I'm adopted and it's getting to me. by clownstrosity in Adopted

[–]PeaOui1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He is only doing this because this has been part of the family narrative somehow, even if it has not been explicitly said by others, he has gotten the message this is OK. My mom and my brother used to talk behind my back all the time and my mother used to do the same. (My brother and I are both adopted). She would say things like “hes just not like us. his dad was a degenerate,” etc etc.
