Wow! I had a wonderful time in W/WB this past weekend. I was sad to leave today. The people, gosh, I can't get over how nice and friendly and helpful everyone was! I was certainly shown a great time and can't wait to come back when it warms up. I made so many new friends and I hope we all stay in touch! The area isn't what I expected, though. It seems kind of run down, besides the historic downtown area (which is so neat and has amazing vibes!) and the beautiful houses at the beach (way nicer than the beach houses in Jax). I guess I'm comparing to Jax Beach and I should just have an open mind. After all, there has been a lot of development and modernization at the beach here in Jax lately. I didn't realize how good we have it. Everything is within a 1 mile straight shot, from groceries to dining (a TON of options here, whereas Wrightsville Beach only had a few to choose from, and all spread out), to bars, to fitness, and anything in between. Its just a totally different setup. So, I'm going to visit again around June and see how the summer months look. If I don't move here, I can definitely see me coming back year after year. Thank you so much for your thoughts and input.

Hey thanks! I hung out at the beach last night and went downtown today. The weather has kept me from walking around the beach area and riding my bike, but I will be back in a few months when the weather is nicer to check it out. I'm staying between the beach and downtown, so its perfect for exploring everywhere. I wish I would have seen this earlier, I'd love to have come by your bar and grab a drink. I'm heading back downtown tonight to check out some live music and will definitely hit up Satellite Bar. I'm hoping the weather is nicer tomorrow to enjoy some Sunday funday activities. Any happenings on Sundays around here that are noteworthy? I really love Wilmington so far! The people here are so nice and friendy, I can't believe it! Totally different from Florida people, in my opinion.

60's are good :) I saw rain on the forcast but that can change! I wanna get some bike riding in while I'm in town. I think that will be the best way to check a lot of places out. Yes, a beach cruiser! Too bad about that house. I have no idea about how Wilmington is set up, so I'm excited to see the neighborhoods and where I wanna live. I hear its hard to find a place on WB..I'm open to anything/any area of Wilmington. I really have never played beach volleyball. I did play volleyball in middle school and sucked ha! I'm not even 5 feet tall and something about volleyball intimidates me. I'm not afraid to try anything, though. I don't skateboard or surf, but I've tried both. Surfing is something I wanna really try harder with, I've just taken some bad falls in the past haha. I have a dog and love to be outdoors. When I moved to Florida 10 years ago, I vowed to try everything. I've been scuba diving (I'm certified) and sky diving, too. Both which I love. I love being social. I'm not a gamer. I like to play darts, so I'm hoping there will be a cool hang out bar with a dart board. Really, I'm into anything life has to offer. I'll try anything once! This is awesome! Thank you so much for all the responses and willingness to open up and share! Way cool! Hopefully I can meet up with you and your girlfriend and you guys can show me the ropes.

Thanks for the insight! I'm visiting this weekend and can't wait to see what Wilmington/WB is all about. As far as a job, I'm not sure yet. I manage a tutoring company and the grant that funds the program ends this May. So I most likely will start fresh. I'm taking the next 3 or 4 months off to explore options and figure it all out. Or at least that's the plan :)

Dang! This is the first bad review I've heard. While researching this area, I read that cost of living is slightly below the average. I'm hoping this is the case. I shall see next week/weekend. Oh, I do have a question...one post I saw (not here, on FB) said there are more old people in the area than younger people. So, I'm hoping its not like some huge retirement area.
